Setup and Installation
The Wallpad Modular Switch system consists of individual modules, frames, and mounting boxes, which are sold separately. Ensure you have all necessary components before beginning installation.
1. Component Overview

The system comprises a back box, a mid steel panel, the switch module, and a decorative frame. These components are assembled together to form the complete switch unit.
2. Mounting Box Selection
Only square mounting boxes are compatible with this product. Round boxes are not suitable. The number of mounting boxes required depends on the frame size:
- 1 frame: 1 piece of box
- 2 frames: 2 pieces of box
- ...and so on, up to 5 frames requiring 5 pieces of box.
Square boxes can be connected to each other for multi-gang installations.

For 86*86mm panels, use an 86 Type Box (Screw Hole Distance 60mm). For 146*86mm panels, use a 146 Type Box (Screw Hole Distance 120mm).
3. Wiring Instructions
Refer to the specific wiring diagrams for your module type (AC110-220V, DC Dry Contact, or DC RS485) below. Always ensure power is OFF before wiring.
3.1. DC12V/24V Dry Contact Module Wiring

Connect the DC power supply and control lines according to the labels. The "DC" terminal is for the common positive of the indicator light, "GND" is for the negative of the indicator light, and "KC" is for the common terminal of a buzzer (if applicable). The switch operates as a dry contact.
3.2. AC110-220V Module Wiring

Connect the Live (火线) and Neutral (零线) wires to the designated terminals. The output terminals are labeled L1, L2, L3, L4. For 2-way switching, two AC110-220V type switches can be connected using AB wires. Important: Do not connect 220V power to the communication port.
3.3. DC12V/24V RS485 Module Wiring

Connect the DC power supply and RS485 communication lines. The "DC" terminal is for the common positive of the indicator light, "GND" is for the negative of the indicator light, and "KC" is for the common terminal of a buzzer (if applicable). The RS485 communication port requires connection to a compatible controller. Important: Do not connect 220V power to the communication port.
4. Assembly Steps
- Ensure all wiring is complete and secure within the mounting box.
- Attach the mid steel panel to the mounting box using screws.
- Carefully align and insert the switch module(s) into the mid steel panel.
- Secure the decorative frame over the module(s) and mid steel panel.
- Restore power and test the switch functionality.
Operating Instructions
The Wallpad Modular Switches are designed for intuitive operation with a gentle click mechanism and clear LED indicators.
- Gentle Click Button: Press the button gently to activate or deactivate the connected circuit.
- LED Indicator: The integrated LED indicator provides visual feedback on the switch status. Depending on the model, this can be an orange icon backlight or a white outline backlight.
- RS485 Control: For RS485 models, the switch is controlled via a connected RS485 controller. Refer to your controller's manual for specific programming and operation details.
- 2-Way Switching: If configured for 2-way operation with two AC110-220V switches, pressing either switch will toggle the circuit.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your Wallpad Modular Switch, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surface of the switch and frame. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
- Inspection: Periodically check for any loose connections or signs of wear. If any damage is observed, disconnect power and consult a qualified electrician for repair or replacement.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the switch is installed in an environment within its specified operating temperature and humidity ranges to prevent malfunction.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Wallpad Modular Switch, try the following troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Switch not responding | No power, loose wiring, faulty module. | Check circuit breaker. Verify all wiring connections are secure (ensure power is off). Test with a known working module if available. |
| LED indicator not lighting up | Incorrect wiring of LED terminals, faulty LED. | Review wiring diagram for LED connections (DC and GND terminals). Ensure correct voltage is applied. |
| RS485 module not communicating | Incorrect RS485 wiring, controller issue, incorrect address. | Verify RS485 A/B wire connections. Check controller settings and address configuration. Consult controller manual. |
| Switch feels loose in frame | Module not properly seated or screws not tightened. | Ensure module is fully clicked into the mid steel panel and the frame is securely attached. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support or a qualified electrician.
