5. Setup Guide
5.1 Battery Installation
- Align the battery with the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
- Gently push the battery into place until it clicks securely.

5.2 Antenna Attachment
- Screw the SMA-Female antenna clockwise onto the antenna connector at the top of the radio until it is finger-tight.

6. Basic Operation
6.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on: Rotate the power/volume knob clockwise until you hear a click.
- To power off: Rotate the power/volume knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.
6.2 Volume Adjustment
Rotate the power/volume knob to adjust the listening volume.
6.3 Display Modes
The 1.77-inch display supports two main modes:
- Frequency Mode: Displays the current operating frequency.
- Channel Mode: Displays the current channel number.
You can switch between these modes and access various function menus (VOX, FM, CT, etc.) directly on the display.

6.4 Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit: Press and hold the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button on the side of the radio and speak into the microphone.
- To receive: Release the PTT button.
7. Advanced Features
7.1 Wireless Copy Frequency (FQSCAN)
This feature allows you to quickly copy the frequency and privacy code from another radio without needing a computer.
- Step 1: Power on your AR-518 radio. Press the "MENU" key, then use the "▲" or "▼" keys to navigate to the "FQSCAN" interface on the display screen.
- Step 2: Press the "MENU" key again. The display will show "-----", indicating it's ready to start wireless frequency copying.
- Step 3: Activate the transmission on the other walkie-talkie you wish to copy from. The AR-518 will search for its frequency and privacy code.
- Step 4: Once the frequency is detected, press the "MENU" button to confirm saving. The display will show the copied frequency (e.g., "443.325") and a channel number (e.g., "CH-001").
- You can now communicate with the other radio on the newly copied frequency.

7.2 VOX Function
VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) allows hands-free operation. The radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice.
- Access the menu to enable/disable VOX and adjust its sensitivity level.
7.3 Scan Function
The scan function allows the radio to automatically scan through programmed channels or frequencies to detect active transmissions.
- Activate the scan function via the menu or a designated side key.
7.4 Emergency (SOS) Function
