2. Setup

2.1 Vehicle Compatibility

This unit is designed for Lexus RX300 XU10 (1997-2003) and Toyota Harrier (1998-2002) models. Ensure your vehicle's dashboard matches the installation model shown below.

2.2 Wiring for Rear Camera

To connect the rear camera, follow these steps:

  1. Red cable ① connects to the backup light's positive (+) terminal.
  2. Black cable ② connects to the backup light's negative (-) terminal.
  3. The reversing detection cable ④ (brown color) connects to the red cable ③, which extends from the video input cable.
  4. Cable ⑤ does not require connection.

2.3 Steering Wheel Control Setup

If your vehicle does not have CANBUS:

Refer to the on-screen instructions to manually set up the steering wheel controls. Navigate to Settings > SWC (Steering Wheel Control) and follow the prompts to map your vehicle's steering wheel buttons.

If your package includes CANBUS:

Connect the CANBUS first. Then, navigate to the car model settings, select the correct car information, and reboot the unit. The steering wheel controls should then work automatically.

2.4 Changing the Boot Logo

  • For V1C/V1 models: Go to System Settings > Factory Settings > Enter password 8888.
  • For V1 Pro models: Go to System Settings > Factory Settings > Enter password 8878.

3.1 User Interface (UI)

The Junsun V1 series features the New Junsun UI 4.0, offering a professional design for safe driving. It supports both day and night modes for optimal visibility.

3.2 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

The V1.C, V1 Pro.C, and V1 Plus models come with built-in wireless Android Auto and CarPlay. Connect your smartphone to access navigation, phone contacts, notifications, music, and more directly on the radio's display.

3.3 AI Voice Control (Optional)

For enhanced safety and convenience, the AI Voice Control feature allows you to operate the radio using voice commands. Simply say the command word, and the system will execute tasks like opening navigation, playing music, or making calls. This feature requires a separate purchase for activation.

3.4 GPS Navigation

The unit comes with pre-installed offline maps, which are permanently free to update. It supports various navigation applications like Igo, Waze, and Google Maps.

3.5 DSP Sound Adjustment

The Digital Sound Processor (DSP) allows for precise audio customization, including 30-band EQ settings, sound field adjustments, and bass/vocal controls to enhance your listening experience.

3.6 Bluetooth Connectivity

3.7 Online Radio

3.8 Junsun Online APP (4G Version Only)

The Junsun Online APP offers several functions for 4G versions:

  • GPS Tracking: Check tracking information and trajectory history on your phone.
  • Parking Location: Find your car's parking location.
  • AI Security: Remote surveillance shooting (requires special DVR purchase).

3.9 ADAS DVR Camera (Optional)

When connected with an optional ADAS DVR camera, the unit can record full HD video and provide advanced driver-assistance features such as lane departure warning (LDWS), front vehicle departure warning (FVDW), and forward collision warning (FCWS).

3.10 TPMS Function (Optional)

With an optional Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), the unit can display real-time tire pressure and temperature for all four tires, providing warnings if pressure or temperature is high or low.

3.11 OBD II (Optional)

Connect an optional OBD II scanner (e.g., ELM327 Mini Auto Scanner V3) to the unit to read and clear error diagnostic codes, monitor long-term fuel situation, intake manifold pressure, fuel injection advance time, coolant temperature, fuel system status, and more.

3.12 Split Screen Functionality

The split-screen feature allows you to run two applications simultaneously, such as navigation and music, or ADAS camera view and music, enhancing multitasking capabilities.

3.13 Reversing Screen Function

When reversing your vehicle, the unit automatically switches to the rear camera view, displaying parking lines for assistance. This function requires a connected rear camera.

3.14 Adjustable Button Color

The unit offers 7 options for button light colors, allowing you to customize the aesthetic to match your vehicle's interior or personal preference.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Software Updates (OTA)

The unit supports Over-The-Air (OTA) updates to upgrade online, ensuring you have the latest features and improvements. (Note: V2 Plus models may not support OTA updates).

4.2 Offline Map Updates

Offline maps are pre-installed and offer permanent free updates. To update the map, please contact Junsun customer service. They will provide access to the updated files via a 'Drop box'. Do not download map updates from unofficial sources, as this may damage the original map data. Map updates are typically released once a year.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 General Issues

  • Unit reboots or abnormal situations: Ensure the powerful cooling fan is functioning correctly to prevent overheating.
  • CarPlay/Android Auto not connecting: Ensure you are using the correct 4-pin USB port and have clicked the 'PhoneLink' or 'Tlink' app on the radio.

5.2 Steering Wheel Controls Not Working

  • No CANBUS: Verify that the steering wheel controls have been manually mapped correctly in the settings (refer to section 2.3).
  • With CANBUS: Ensure the CANBUS is properly connected and the correct car model information has been selected and the unit rebooted (refer to section 2.3).
