5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Automatic Charging
The FOXSUR charger is fully automatic. Once connected to the battery and power, it will detect the battery type and condition, then initiate the appropriate 3-stage charging process. The LCD display will show real-time information.

Image 5: The intelligent LCD display provides real-time feedback on charging current, voltage, and ambient temperature.
5.2 Winter/Summer Mode
The charger automatically detects the ambient temperature and adjusts the charging voltage accordingly. This ensures optimal charging performance in both cold (winter) and warm (summer) conditions, preventing under or overcharging due to temperature fluctuations.
5.3 Pulse Repair Function
To activate the pulse repair function, ensure the charger is connected to the battery and power. Press the 'Repair' button on the charger. This function uses high and low frequency pulse technology to help desulfate and recondition old, idle, or deeply discharged batteries that may not accept a normal charge. The display will show 'PUL' during this process.

5.4 Disconnecting the Charger
- Unplug the AC power cord from the electrical outlet first.
- Remove the BLACK (-) charger clamp from the battery terminal or vehicle chassis.
- Remove the RED (+) charger clamp from the battery terminal.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect the charger from power and battery. Wipe the casing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use. Ensure cables are neatly coiled and not kinked.
- Fan Maintenance: The charger features a cooling fan. Ensure the fan vents are clear of dust and debris for optimal performance.
- Battery Terminals: Keep battery terminals clean and free of corrosion for efficient charging.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Charger does not turn on. | No power from outlet, faulty connection. | Check AC power connection. Test outlet with another device. Ensure battery clamps are securely connected. |
| Battery not charging. | Incorrect connection, battery too low, battery faulty. | Verify correct polarity (+ to +, - to -). Ensure battery voltage is above 8.0V. If battery is severely damaged, it may not accept a charge. Try pulse repair function. |
| 'Fault' indicator is on. | Reverse polarity, short circuit, open circuit (no battery connected). | Check battery connections for correct polarity. Ensure clamps are not touching each other. Connect to a battery. |
| Charger gets hot. | Normal operation, blocked fan. | Some heat is normal during charging. Ensure fan vents are not blocked and there is adequate ventilation. The charger has over-temperature protection. |
