4. Setup

4.1 Wiring the Electronic Load

Proper wiring is crucial for accurate measurements and safe operation. The device supports both two-wire and four-wire connection methods.

  • Two-wire wiring method (1): This method is simpler and convenient for basic tests.
  • Four-wire wiring method (2): For more accurate voltage measurements, especially when the voltage drop across the wires might affect readings, the four-wire method is recommended. This method separates the current path from the voltage sensing path, ensuring the voltage measurement is not affected by wire resistance.

4.2 Powering On

Connect the provided DC12V 1A power supply to the device. Once powered up, the Bluetooth light will flash, indicating it is ready for connection.

4.3 Software and APP Installation

The DL24MP-150W-DK supports both mobile applications (iOS/Android) and PC software for data monitoring and control.

Due to potential incompatibilities with some mobile phones, if the APP (E-test) is not found or does not function correctly from Google Play, please use the alternative download link provided. Before purchasing, it is recommended to download and test the APP to ensure compatibility and language switching functionality. When using the APP, ensure GPS positioning permission is turned on for proper Bluetooth functionality.

4.4 Connecting via Bluetooth (Mobile APP)

The APP uses the latest connection technology. Do not pair through your phone's Bluetooth settings directly. Instead, follow these steps:

  1. Power up the DL24MP-150W-DK. The Bluetooth light will flash.
  2. Open the E-test APP on your mobile phone (Android 5.0+ or iOS).
  3. Click the Bluetooth symbol within the APP (usually in the upper left corner).
  4. Select the Bluetooth name starting with "_BLE" (for mobile connection) from the list to connect.
  5. Ensure GPS positioning permission is enabled for the APP in your phone's settings if the signal list is blank or not displayed.

5. Operation

5.1 Main Test Interfaces

The device supports 7 primary test modes, each with its dedicated interface for detailed monitoring:

  • Constant Current (CC) Test: Maintains a constant discharge current.
  • Constant Voltage (CV) Test: Maintains a constant discharge voltage.
  • Constant Resistance (CR) Test: Maintains a constant load resistance.
  • Constant Power (CP) Test: Maintains a constant discharge power.
  • BRT (Internal Resistance) Test: Measures battery internal resistance.
  • PT (DC Power) Test: Measures DC power characteristics.
  • CT (Wire Resistance) Test: Measures wire resistance.

5.2 Product Background Settings

You can access and adjust various parameters and settings by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button for approximately 3 seconds.

Use the "+" button twice to enter power and ampere selection. Press "+" or "-" to select desired power/ampere, then "M" to confirm and return to the background. Key settings include:

  • Overvoltage Alarm (OVP): >200.0V
  • Overcurrent Alarm (OCP): >25.0A
  • Overpower Alarm (OPP): >150.0W
  • Overtemperature Alarm (OTP): >52.0°C (Default fan startup temperature)

If a protection interface pops up, adjust parameters carefully. It is recommended to slowly and smoothly adjust preset values during discharge to avoid triggering protection mechanisms.

5.3 Intelligent Temperature Control Fan

The device features an intelligent temperature control fan to maintain optimal operating temperatures.

  • The fan requires a certain temperature before starting. If the starting temperature is not reached, it will not operate.
  • The default fan startup temperature is 52°C. You can adjust this within the range of 40°C to 80°C in the system background settings.
  • The fan will stop working when the temperature drops by 10°C from its set startup temperature. For example, if the startup temperature is set to 40°C, the fan will stop at 30°C.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DL24MP-150W-DK, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Product Notice: Due to manufacturing process and aging tests, the discharge tube and heat dissipation silicone grease may show slight oxidation. This is normal and does not affect product performance or use.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Software and APP Issues

  • APP crashes or incompatibilities: Ensure your mobile device runs Android 5.0 or above. For PC software, Windows 7 or 10 is required. If issues persist, try downloading the APP from the alternative Mediafire link provided in Section 4.3.
  • Bluetooth connection problems:
    • Do not pair the device via your phone's standard Bluetooth settings. Connect directly through the E-test APP.
    • For mobile connections, select the Bluetooth name starting with "_BLE".
    • For PC connections, select the Bluetooth name starting with "_SPP".
    • The computer pairing password is "0000" or "1234".
  • Mobile APP blank screen or no signal list: Turn on GPS positioning on your mobile phone. Alternatively, in your phone's settings, find the E-test APP and grant location information or storage information permissions. Then, reconnect.
  • No WiFi support: This device connects via Bluetooth only, not WiFi.

7.2 Device Protection Triggers

The device has built-in safety protection functions (over-current, over-temperature, over-power). If a protection interface pops up during operation, it indicates that one of these limits has been exceeded. Adjust your test parameters (voltage, current, power) to stay within the device's safe operating limits (e.g., <150W discharge power, <25A current, <200V voltage). Gradually increase parameters from a low value when starting a new test.

8. User Tips

  • Battery Compatibility: The DL24MP-150W-DK is designed for testing various battery types including 18650 lithium, lead-acid, polymer, and lithium iron phosphate batteries. While it may work with other battery chemistries like NiMh or NiCd, these are not explicitly listed as supported, and users should proceed with caution and verify compatibility.
  • Discharge without BMS: The device allows setting a cut-off voltage, which can be used to discharge batteries safely even without an external Battery Management System (BMS), provided the cut-off voltage is set appropriately for the battery chemistry to prevent over-discharge.   • Current Capacity: The device supports a working current range of 3mA to 25A. Ensure your test setup and battery can handle this current without damage.
