Designed for a perfect OEM-style fit, this dash cam offers high-resolution video recording, superior night vision, and essential safety features to enhance your driving experience.
2. Vehicle Compatibility
This Fitcamx Dash Cam is specifically designed for the following vehicle models:
- VW Volkswagen ID.4 (2021 to 2025)
- Audi Q4 e-tron (2022-2026)

Important Compatibility Notes:
- Both Model A and Model B dash cams draw power from the rain sensor. Select the correct model based on whether your original rearview mirror cover has a USB port.
- This dash cam is NOT applicable to 2022-2023 Volkswagen ID.4 models with a Type-C port on the right side of the rearview mirror cover.
- If you require a dash cam for Volkswagen ID.6, please contact customer support for specific model information.

4. Installation Guide
Pre-Installation Checklist
- Keep the key fob far away from your car during installation.
- Perform the installation from the passenger side. There is a sensor in the driver's seat that may cause an error code if disturbed during installation.
- Carefully locate the correct plug for power as shown in the instructions.
- When disconnecting plugs, place the wire above your index finger and pull the plug out upwards. Do NOT use pliers, as this may damage the plug.

Main Dash Cam Installation (Plug and Play)
The Fitcamx Dash Cam is designed for a 'Plug and Play' installation, drawing power directly from the rain sensor. This method ensures no damage to your vehicle's wiring.
- Using the provided pry tool, carefully remove the original rearview mirror back cover.
- Push forward to fully remove the larger cover piece.
- Locate the 3-pin rain sensor connector. This may require careful inspection.
- Connect the provided Y-cable to the rain sensor connector.

The default is rain sensor power, but fuse box or OBD cables can be requested.
Rear Camera Installation (for Dual Cam versions)
The 1080P 360° Rotation Rear Camera can be mounted on the rear windshield or facing the cabin. The rear camera requires hard wiring from the front camera unit.

Below, it shows examples of mounting the rear camera on the rear windshield or facing the cabin. The image also details the 'Rear cam kit' components: one non-waterproof rear cam and one rear cam cable.
5. Operating Your Dash Cam
Automatic Operation
The dash cam is designed for automatic operation. It will automatically turn on when your car starts and turn off when your car is switched off. You do not need to manually connect to the camera's WiFi or open the app every time you drive.
Key Features
- 4K UHD High Resolution: Equipped with an advanced Novatek chip and f/1.6 large aperture lens, the dash cam records videos up to 2160P (4K) resolution. The CMOS sensor enhances image performance, capturing more driving details.
- Superior Night Vision: Featuring wide dynamic range (WDR) technology, the dash cam delivers clear video even in low-light conditions, capturing details like license plates and road signs.
- Loop Recording & G-Sensor: Seamless loop recording automatically overwrites the oldest footage when the memory card is full. The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden collisions, automatically saving and locking relevant footage to prevent it from being overwritten.
- WiFi & Mobile App: Connect your dash cam to the dedicated Fitcamx mobile app (available for Apple iOS & Android) via WiFi to view live footage, playback recordings, download videos, and adjust settings.

Text Description: The image shows the Fitcamx dash cam seamlessly integrated into a car's rearview mirror area, with a smartphone below it displaying the live recording feed from the dash cam, illustrating the WiFi and app functionality.

Text Description: This image visually compares 2160P (4K) and 1080P video resolutions, demonstrating how 4K provides significantly clearer and more detailed footage, highlighting the dash cam's high-resolution capability.

Text Description: The image depicts a night scene with a car driving, showcasing the dash cam's superior night vision capabilities by clearly rendering license plates and road signs, even in challenging low-light conditions.

Text Description: This image visually explains loop recording and G-Sensor features. It shows how older video segments are automatically overwritten, while critical footage detected by the G-Sensor (e.g., during a collision) is locked and protected from deletion, symbolized by a padlock icon.

Text Description: This image compares the Fitcamx app with generic 'Other Apps'. It highlights Fitcamx's advantages: no ads, fast playback, no need to create an account or bind a phone number, and multi-language support (English, Russian, Italian, Spanish, German, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese).
6. Maintenance
Memory Card Management
- It is recommended to use Class 10 specification memory cards from reputable brands such as SanDisk, KIOXIA, or Samsung.
- Supported capacities are 32GB or 64GB. The maximum supported size is 256GB.
- Regularly format the memory card through the Fitcamx app to ensure optimal performance and prevent recording issues.
- If the app shows an empty video file or no video is loaded, try formatting the memory card. If the issue persists, the memory card might be damaged or incompatible and should be replaced.
7. Troubleshooting (Q&A)
Problem 1: Apple iPhone connection failed
Solution:
- First, turn off the Cellular Data in your phone settings, then connect to the dash cam's WiFi.
- If your phone is connected to the car's CarPlay, you need to turn off Bluetooth before connecting to the camera's WiFi.
- Check if the album and network permissions for the Fitcamx App have been granted. (Album permission is only used to save videos and pictures recorded by the camera to your phone's album).
Problem 2: Android phone connection failure
Solution:
- After connecting to the camera's WiFi, your phone may prompt that you can't access the Internet. Please click "Keep WLAN Connection".
- Close Mobile Data first, then connect to the dash cam's WiFi.
Problem 3: App cannot save settings (default settings are restored after reboot)
Solution: After setting the App, press and hold the power button of the camera to turn it off. Then, briefly press the power button to turn the camera back on. This will save your settings.
Problem 4: APP video file is empty, no video is loaded
Solution:
- Open the App settings to format the memory card, then try recording video.
- If the App album still has no video, insert the memory card into a computer to check if it's damaged or incompatible. If so, replace the memory card.
- It is recommended to use Class10 specification SanDisk/KIOXIA/Samsung memory cards of 32GB or 64GB capacity. (Maximum size supported is 256GB).
Problem 5: Why doesn't my computer play the videos? Or why is the playback video not smooth?
Solution:
- We recommend using PotPlayer and KMplayer for video playback.
- If your computer's specifications are too low, it may cause choppy playback, especially for 4K resolution videos.
Problem 6: Why can't you connect 2 phones at the same time?
Solution: The dash cam's WiFi only supports connecting one phone at a time. If another phone needs to be connected, you must first disconnect the WiFi from the currently connected phone.
Problem 7: Why is the timestamp of the video wrong, or there is no recorded video during some time periods, or there is video when the phone is connected, but no video when the phone is not connected?
Solution: This issue might be caused by a complete power failure of the camera. After car repair, maintenance, or battery replacement, you need to reconnect the camera's WiFi with your phone to synchronize the camera's time with your phone's time. Regularly check that the camera is working properly.
Problem 8: What should I do if I forget the WiFi name or password?
Solution: Press and hold the camera key for 20 seconds, or use a paperclip to press the reset button to restore factory settings.
Problem 9: Do I need to connect the camera WiFi and open the App every time I drive?
Solution: No, the camera operates automatically. It will turn on when the car is on and turn off when the car is off.
Problem 10: What should I do if I can't find the WiFi?
Solution:
- First, remove the memory card and then search for WiFi. A memory card failure can prevent the camera from broadcasting WiFi.
- Press and hold the camera button for 20 seconds, or use a paper clip to press the reset button to restore factory settings.
- Check if the camera's indicator light is on. If there is no light, it indicates no power supply, and thus no WiFi.
