1. Introduction

This product is a versatile 4-channel universal WiFi wireless smart switch, equipped with an RF 433MHz module. It is designed to integrate into your smart home system, allowing you to remotely and automatically control home appliances and electronic devices via a smartphone application. Additionally, it supports indoor control using an RF remote controller. The device can simultaneously connect and manage up to four appliances through the app, with independent control over each channel. It also features timing functions for scheduled on/off operations and supports family sharing for collaborative smart home management. Voice control is available through Amazon Alexa and Google Home/Nest, IFTTT, enhancing convenience and making your home smarter.

The latest version of this product does not support USB 5V voltage input. The default version shipped is the latest one.

5. Setup and Installation

5.1. Pre-installation Checklist

  • Ensure your smartphone or tablet is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network with internet access.
  • Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Have your correct WiFi password ready.
  • Your smartphone or tablet must have access to the APP Store or Google Play.
  • Your router should be MAC-open.

5.2. App Download and Registration

  1. Download the 'Tuya Smart' or 'Smart Life' app by searching in your mobile app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android) or by scanning the QR code provided in the manual.
  2. Register a new Tuya Smart account if you don't have one. If you already have an account, simply log in.

5.3. Device Pairing (WiFi)

  1. Power On: Connect the smart switch to the appropriate power supply (DC/AC 7-32V or AC85-250V).
  2. Reset Device: If the network indicator (red light) is blinking fast (0.5S/time), you can skip this step. Otherwise, press and hold the Reset button on the device for 10 seconds until the network indicator (red light) blinks rapidly (0.5S/time).
  3. Add Device in App: In the Tuya Smart app, click the '+' icon in the top right corner, then select 'Auto Scan'. Wait a few seconds for the app to discover the device. Once found, click 'Next'.
  4. Connect to WiFi: Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
  5. Name Device: Name your device for easy identification.
  6. You can now control your device using the mobile app.

5.4. RF Remote Control Setup

The device can also be controlled by an RF 433MHz remote controller. To pair the remote:

  1. Access the device settings in the Tuya Smart app.
  2. Navigate to 'RF remote control setup'.
  3. Click 'Add' and follow the on-screen prompts to press a button on your RF remote within 10 seconds.
  4. Once successfully added, you can assign functions (open, close, state switch) to each button (A, B, C, D) of the remote for controlling the switches.

6. Operating Modes

The smart switch supports three working modes: Self-locking, Interlocking, and Inching. The default mode is self-locking.

  • Self-locking Mode: In this mode, each of the four devices can be controlled independently. Turning one device on or off does not affect the state of the others. This is ideal for controlling individual lights or appliances.
  • Interlock Mode: When one device is turned on, all other devices are automatically turned off at the same time. This mode is useful for applications where only one output should be active at any given time.
  • Inching Mode (Jog Mode): In this mode, when a switch is turned on, it will automatically turn off after a customizable duration (default 1 second, configurable from 2 to 3600 seconds in the app). This is suitable for momentary actions like opening a garage door or activating a motor for a short period.

7. App Control

The Tuya Smart / Smart Life app allows you to control your smart switch from anywhere, anytime. Simply tap on the app to turn on or off connected devices. This feature enables you to manage your home appliances remotely, ensuring convenience and energy efficiency.

8. Voice Control

The smart switch is fully compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home/Nest, IFTTT, allowing for hands-free voice control of your connected appliances. Simply speak commands to your voice assistant, and it will execute them through the smart switch.

9. Timing Function

The smart switch supports up to 8 enabled countdown, single, or repeat timing tasks. You can set specific times for appliances to turn on or off, automating your daily routines. For example, you can schedule lights to turn on in the morning or fans to turn off at night.

10. Family Sharing

12. Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean and dry. Avoid exposure to dust, dirt, and moisture.
  • Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself. Refer to qualified service personnel for any repairs.
  • Regularly check wiring connections to ensure they are secure.
  • Ensure the device is installed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.

13. Troubleshooting

13.1. Device Not Connecting to WiFi

  • Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz. The device does not support 5GHz networks.
  • Verify that your WiFi password is correct.
  • Check if your router is MAC-open.
  • Make sure your smartphone/tablet is connected to the same 2.4GHz WiFi network during pairing.
  • Try resetting the device by holding the Reset button for 10 seconds until the red light blinks rapidly.

13.2. RF Remote Not Working

  • Ensure the remote control is properly paired with the smart switch as described in Section 5.4.
  • Check the battery in the RF remote controller. The remote uses a 23A 12V battery (not included with some models).

13.3. App Control Issues

  • Ensure your phone has internet access.
  • Check if the device status is updated in the app.
  • Restart the app or your phone.

  • For optimal performance, ensure your WiFi signal is strong in the area where the smart switch is installed.
  • When setting up timing functions, consider daylight saving changes if applicable to your region.
  • Regularly check for app updates to ensure you have the latest features and security enhancements.
