4. Installation

Follow these steps to install the Maxto M3S on your helmet:

  1. Choose Mounting Location: Select a suitable flat surface on the side of your helmet for the main unit.
  2. Attach Mounting Clip/Base:
    • Iron Back Clip: Slide the iron back clip between the helmet shell and the inner padding. Ensure it is securely fastened.
    • Rotating Base (Adhesive): Clean the chosen area on the helmet surface thoroughly. Peel off the protective film from the double-sided tape on the rotating base and firmly press it onto the helmet. Hold for a few seconds to ensure good adhesion.
  3. Mount the M3S Unit: Slide the Maxto M3S unit onto the attached clip or base until it clicks into place.
  4. Install Speakers: Place the speaker Velcro inside the helmet, aligning it with your ears. Attach the speakers to the Velcro. Ensure they are positioned comfortably and do not obstruct your hearing.
  5. Install Microphone: Attach the microphone to the inside of the helmet, near your mouth. Use the soft glue or double-sided tape if necessary to secure it. Ensure the microphone is positioned to pick up your voice clearly without being too close to your mouth, which can cause distortion.
  6. Connect Headphones & Microphone: Plug the headphones and microphone cable into the corresponding port on the Maxto M3S unit.
  7. Insert Memory Card (Optional): Open the memory card slot cover on the M3S unit and insert a compatible TF card (up to 128GB) in the direction shown in the figure (refer to image `S1c8f5532344d472bb725a99a77045acfZ.jpg`). Close the cover securely.

  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator light turns off and you hear a power-off prompt.

5.2 Bluetooth Pairing (with Phone/GPS)

  1. Ensure the M3S is powered off.

  3. On your smartphone or GPS device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "Maxto M3S" from the list. If prompted, enter "0000" as the PIN.
  5. Once paired, the indicator light will change to a slow blue flash, and you will hear a connection confirmation.

5.3 Intercom Function (with other M3S units)

The M3S supports real-time communication for up to 6 riders over a distance of up to 1000 meters.

  1. Ensure both M3S units are powered on and not connected to other Bluetooth devices.
  2. Initiate pairing mode on both units (refer to your specific manual for intercom pairing button combinations, typically a dedicated intercom button or a specific sequence of main button presses).
  3. Once paired, the units will connect automatically for intercom communication.
  4. To add more units, repeat the pairing process with each new unit, ensuring all units are in pairing mode simultaneously for group intercom setup.

  • Start Recording: Press the dedicated Video Record button (often marked with a camera icon) once. The indicator light will change to confirm recording has started.
  • Stop Recording: Press the Video Record button again.
  • Loop Recording: The M3S automatically records in segments. When the memory card is full, the oldest video files will be overwritten by new recordings.

The oversized rotary knob is designed for easy operation while riding. It typically controls volume, track skipping, FM tuning, and menu navigation. Refer to your specific manual for detailed functions assigned to short press, long press, and rotation.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the M3S unit. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure all ports are dry before charging or connecting cables.
  • Lens Care: Gently clean the camera lens with a microfiber cloth to avoid scratches.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the official Maxto website or app periodically for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and try again.
  • Cannot pair with phone/intercom: Ensure the M3S is in pairing mode (rapid flashing indicator). Make sure other Bluetooth devices are disconnected. Try restarting both the M3S and your phone/intercom unit.
  • No sound from speakers: Check if the speakers are properly connected to the M3S unit. Ensure volume is not muted or too low.
  • Video recording issues: Ensure a memory card is inserted and has sufficient free space. Check if the memory card is properly formatted (FAT32 recommended).
  • Poor video quality: Ensure the lens is clean. Check lighting conditions; the M3S has automatic exposure compensation, but extreme conditions can still affect quality.
  • WiFi connection problems: Ensure the M3S's WiFi is enabled. Try restarting the M3S and your phone's WiFi.
  • Intercom distance issues: Ensure there are no major obstructions between units. The 1000m range is under ideal conditions; actual range may vary with terrain and environment.
