5. Setup

5.1. Receiver Unit Installation

  1. Charging: Before first use, fully charge the receiver unit using the provided USB cable. The unit also supports solar charging; ensure the solar panel is exposed to sunlight for continuous power.
  2. Placement: The receiver unit can be placed on your dashboard or attached to the windshield. Choose a location that provides clear visibility of the display and allows the solar panel to receive adequate sunlight.

5.2. Sensor Installation

The system supports both external and internal sensors. The sensors are pre-paired with the receiver unit for ease of installation and automatically transmit real-time signals.

5.2.1. External Sensor Installation

  1. Unscrew the original valve cap from each tire.
  2. Screw on the corresponding external sensor (marked FL, FR, RL, RR for Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, Rear Right).
  3. Use the provided spanner to tighten the screw nuts against the sensors to prevent theft and ensure a secure fit.

External sensors are designed for easy installation and do not affect the dynamic balance of the wheel.

6.2. Alarm Functions

The system is equipped with 6 alarm modes to alert you to critical tire conditions:

  • Fast Leak Alarm: Alerts when tire pressure drops rapidly.
  • Slow Leak Alarm: Alerts when tire pressure drops gradually over time.
  • High Pressure Alarm: Alerts when tire pressure exceeds the preset safe limit.
  • High Temperature Alarm: Alerts when tire temperature exceeds the preset safe limit.
  • Sensor Fault Alarm: Indicates a malfunction with one of the tire sensors.
  • Sensor Battery Low Power Alarm: Alerts when a sensor's battery is low and needs attention.

To stop an active alarm, simply press any button on the receiver unit.

6.3. Unit Switching

You can switch between different pressure and temperature units:

  • Pressure Units: PSI (pounds per square inch) or Bar.
  • Temperature Units: °C (Celsius) or °F (Fahrenheit).

Refer to the included user manual for specific button presses to change these settings.

7. Maintenance

  • Receiver Unit: Keep the solar panel clean and free from obstructions to ensure efficient solar charging. Periodically wipe the display with a soft, dry cloth.
  • External Sensors: Check the external sensors periodically for tightness and ensure the screw nuts are secure.
  • Sensor Batteries:
    • External Sensors: The CR1632 button battery in external sensors is replaceable and typically lasts 1-2 years. Refer to the detailed user manual for battery replacement instructions.
    • Internal Sensors: The CR24500 button battery in internal sensors is not replaceable. When the battery is depleted (typically 2-5 years), the entire sensor unit will need to be replaced by a professional.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Solar charging not working effectively. Insufficient sunlight exposure; dirty solar panel. Ensure the receiver's solar panel is in direct sunlight. Clean the solar panel regularly. Use USB charging as an alternative.
Sensor fault alarm or no reading from a sensor. Sensor battery low/dead; sensor damaged; sensor not properly installed/paired. Check sensor battery level (if external, replace battery). Reinstall the sensor. If issue persists, the sensor may need replacement.
Receiver display issues (e.g., part of screen off). Unit malfunction. Try resetting the device (refer to manual for reset procedure). If the problem persists, contact customer support.
Clock time drifts significantly. Internal clock inaccuracy. Manually adjust the time as needed. Refer to the user manual for time setting instructions.

9. User Tips

  • Tire Rotation: If you rotate your tires, especially with internal sensors, you may need to re-pair or re-position the sensors in the system settings to ensure the display accurately reflects each tire's position. For external sensors, simply move the physical sensors to their new corresponding tire positions.
  • Spare Sensors: If you frequently switch between summer and winter tires, consider purchasing an additional set of sensors for your second set of wheels. This allows for seamless monitoring without needing to transfer sensors.
  • Sensor Replacement: In case of a lost or damaged sensor, replacement sensors can often be purchased separately and paired with your existing receiver unit. Contact customer support for compatibility and pairing instructions.
