Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the headlamp with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • O-rings: Periodically check and lubricate the O-rings to ensure proper water resistance. Replace O-rings if they appear damaged or worn.
  • Threads: Apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the threads of the tailcap to ensure smooth operation and prevent wear.
  • Battery Care: Charge the 16340 battery regularly, even if not in use, to maintain its lifespan. Avoid completely discharging the battery. If storing for a long period, remove the battery from the headlamp.
  • USB-C Port: Always ensure the rubber cover of the USB-C charging port is securely closed when not charging to prevent water and dust ingress.

Troubleshooting

  • Light not turning on:
    • Ensure the battery is correctly inserted with the positive (+) end facing forward.
    • Check if the battery is charged. If not, charge it using the USB-C port.
    • Verify that the headlamp is not in lockout mode (four clicks to unlock).
    • Tighten the tailcap securely.
  • Charging issues (indicator not lighting up or not turning green):
    • Ensure the USB-C cable is properly connected to both the headlamp and the power source.
    • Try a different USB-C cable or power adapter.
    • Check the USB-C port for any debris or damage.
  • Water ingress:
    • Always ensure the rubber cover of the USB-C port is fully sealed when the headlamp is exposed to water or moisture.
    • Check the O-rings for any damage or improper seating.

User Tips

  • Battery Compatibility: While the HS10 comes with a 16340 battery, it is also compatible with CR123A batteries as a backup option. Note that 18350 batteries are generally too wide for this model.
  • Light Color Temperature: The HS10 is available in different color temperatures (e.g., 4000K, 5000K). 5000K provides a whiter light, while 4000K offers a slightly warmer, more yellowish light. Choose according to your preference for different environments.
  • Beam Type: The HS10 features a focused beam suitable for illuminating objects at a distance. For close-up work, the lower lumen modes provide ample flood lighting.
  • Magnetic Tailcap: Utilize the magnetic tailcap to attach the headlamp to metal surfaces for convenient, hands-free illumination during tasks like vehicle maintenance or working in workshops.
