Installation
Before you begin: Turn off the power at the circuit breaker to avoid electric shock. Ensure you have identified the Live (L), Neutral (N), and Load (L1, L2, L3) wires in your switch box.
1. Physical Installation
- Turn off the main power supply at your circuit breaker.
- Remove your existing wall switch from the wall box.
- Connect the wires to the Zigbee module according to the wiring diagrams below, based on whether you have a neutral wire and the number of gangs.
- Place the mini switch module into the wall box. Its compact size (39.2x39.2x18mm) is designed to fit most standard switch boxes.
- Reinstall your traditional mechanical switch over the module.
- Restore power at the circuit breaker.
2. Wiring Diagrams
Carefully follow the appropriate wiring diagram for your specific module version (No Neutral or With Neutral) and gang configuration (1, 2, or 3 gang).
No Neutral Wire Version
For the 'No Neutral Wire' version, a capacitor is included. If the connected lamp flickers, connect the capacitor in parallel with one of the lamps. The lamp connected to a 'No Neutral' module should be above 10W.
With Neutral Wire Version
Setup and Pairing
A Zigbee hub/gateway is required for this smart switch module to function. The module connects to the Zigbee hub, not directly to your Wi-Fi router.
- Ensure your Zigbee hub (e.g., Tuya Zigbee Hub) is powered on and connected to your home network.
- Open the Tuya Smart Life app on your smartphone.
- Put your Zigbee hub into pairing mode (refer to your hub's manual for specific instructions).
- On the app, add a new device and select the Zigbee switch module.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process. This usually involves a reset sequence on the switch module (e.g., pressing the connected switch multiple times or holding it down).
- Once paired, you can rename the switch and assign it to a room within the app.
Operation
1. App Remote Control
Once paired with your Zigbee hub and the Tuya Smart Life app, you can control your lights from anywhere using your smartphone. The app will display the current status of your lights (on/off).
2. Voice Control
The module is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home Assistant. Link your Tuya Smart Life account to your Alexa or Google Home app to enable voice commands.

3. 2-Way Control

Compatibility Notes
- Tuya Zigbee Hub: All 1/2/3 gang versions are compatible and work well.
- Sonoff ZBBridge: Only 1 gang version is compatible. 2/3 gang versions are NOT compatible (turning on/off one channel in the eWeLink App will affect all channels).
- Sonoff ZBBridge PRO: All 1/2/3 gang versions are NOT compatible.
- Smartthings Hub: Only 1 gang version is compatible. 2/3 gang versions are NOT compatible (turning on/off one channel in the Smartthings App will affect all channels).
- Philips Hue: Not officially listed as compatible.
- Important: If you are not using a Tuya Zigbee hub, it is strongly recommended to only purchase the 1-gang version to ensure proper functionality.
The 'No Neutral' version of the module acts as an End Device and cannot extend the Zigbee network. The 'With Neutral' version acts as a Repeater/Router and can extend the Zigbee network.
User Tips
- Flickering Lights (No Neutral): If your lamp flickers after installing the 'No Neutral' version, ensure the included capacitor is connected in parallel with one of the lamps.
- Minimum Load (No Neutral): For 'No Neutral' switches, the connected lamp should have a power rating above 10W to ensure stable operation.
- 2/3 Gang No Neutral Operation: When using 2-gang or 3-gang 'No Neutral' switches, press the buttons on the wall switch one after another. Pressing multiple buttons simultaneously may cause delayed or unresponsive reactions. This is a characteristic of this specific switch type.
- Zigbee Network Range: If you experience connectivity issues, consider adding more Zigbee repeater devices (like the 'With Neutral' version of this module) to strengthen your Zigbee mesh network.
Maintenance
- Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Keep the device away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
- Regularly check for firmware updates through the Tuya Smart Life app to ensure optimal performance and security.
Troubleshooting
- Device not pairing:

- Light flickering (No Neutral version):
- Connect the included capacitor in parallel with the lamp. Ensure the lamp's wattage is above 10W.
- 2/3 Gang No Neutral buttons unresponsive:
- Press the physical buttons on the wall switch one at a time, with a slight pause between presses. Simultaneous presses can cause delays.
- Module not responding to app/voice commands:
- Check the Zigbee hub's internet connection. Verify the module is still paired with the hub. Ensure your Alexa/Google Home account is correctly linked to the Tuya Smart Life app.
- Module not extending Zigbee network:
- Only the 'With Neutral' version acts as a Zigbee repeater/router. The 'No Neutral' version is an end device and does not extend the network.
