1. Product Overview

The KEBIDUMEI Digital Engine Tach Hour Meter is a versatile and high-quality device designed to measure engine RPM (revolutions per minute) and track engine operating hours. 2. Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your Digital Engine Tach Hour Meter:

  1. Locate the Spark Plug Wire: Identify the spark plug wire on your engine.
  2. Wrap the Inductive Wire: Take the inductive wire attached to the tachometer and wrap it around the spark plug wire approximately 5 times. Ensure a snug fit for accurate readings.
  3. Secure the Wire: Secure the wrapped wire in place using electrical tape or a cable tie to prevent it from coming loose during operation.
  4. Mount the Tachometer: Mount the tachometer in a convenient and visible location on your vehicle or equipment.

2.1. Engine Type Selection (Stroke Mode)

After installation, you need to select the correct engine type for accurate RPM readings. This is done by holding the 'S1' button.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Setting the Tachometer (Spark Plug Firing Revolution)

To set the tachometer for accurate RPM readings based on spark plug firing revolutions:

  1. Press and hold the S1 button for 4 seconds. The LCD will display a code (e.g., 01 for spark plug fires twice per revolution, 02 for once per revolution, 03 for every other revolution, 04 for hour only).
  2. Once you find your desired spark plug firing pattern, release the S1 button.
  3. The LCD will blink for 8 to 10 seconds and then return to total hour meter mode.

3.2. Displaying Hours Only

To display only the operating hours without RPM:

  1. Press and hold the S1 button until '04' is displayed.
  2. Release the S1 button. The display will return to total hours after 8 to 10 seconds.
  3. When the engine is running, the display will show hours only, and the Hour Icon will blink.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Activating the Maintenance Interval Timer

To set a maintenance reminder:

  1. Press and hold the S1 and S2 buttons simultaneously for 4 seconds.
  2. The two digits will increment to '09' seconds and then return to total hours mode.
  3. When the engine is running and the maintenance time has reached zero, the service icon will illuminate.

4.2. Viewing Maintenance Interval

To view the remaining time of your maintenance interval:

  1. Press and hold the S2 button for 4 seconds.
  2. To continue current maintenance, do nothing.
  3. If you wish to start a new maintenance interval, repeat steps 4 and 5 of the activation process.

4.3. Resetting the Service Icon and Total Hours

To reset the service icon and perform a total reset of hours:

  1. Press and hold the S1 and S2 buttons for 20 seconds.
  2. The service icon will shut off.
  3. The maintenance time will automatically default to the number previously programmed.
  4. To reset total hours and maintenance time, press and hold the S1 button until '05' is displayed. Release the S1 button and after 8 seconds the display will return to total hours. Then press and hold S1 and S2 simultaneously for 20 seconds to perform a total reset.

5. Troubleshooting

  • No Display/Flickering Display: Ensure the inductive wire is securely wrapped around the spark plug wire (at least 5 times) and properly secured. Check for any damage to the wire. The device is designed with anti-flicker technology.
  • Incorrect RPM Readings: Verify that the correct engine type (stroke mode) has been selected using the S1 button as described in Section 2.1.
  • Device Not Turning Off: This device is designed to be always on to continuously track hours and RPM when the engine is running. It does not have a dedicated 'off' button.
  • Battery Replacement: The device uses an internal battery. While specific replacement instructions are not provided, it is typically a sealed unit. If the display becomes dim or unresponsive, the battery may need professional replacement or the unit may need to be replaced.
