Compatibility Check

This Junsun Android Auto Radio is designed for Ford Escape Kuga 2 C-MAX models from 2013 to 2016. Before installation, please verify your car's center console matches the compatible design. If your original car's center console resembles the incompatible image below, this product is not suitable.

General Installation

Junsun radios feature a pin-to-pin power cable, allowing direct connection to your car's power interface for easy installation. It is recommended to have the installation performed by a qualified technician.

Connecting the Rear View Camera (Optional)

To connect an optional rear view camera, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the red cable (②) to the backup light's positive (+) terminal.
  2. Connect the black cable (①) to the vehicle's ground (GND).
  3. Connect the reversing detection cable (④, brown color) to the red cable (③) which extends from the video input cable.

Steering Wheel Control Setup

The setup for steering wheel controls depends on whether your product includes a Canbus module:

  • Without Canbus (V1/V1.C/V1 Pro/V1 Pro.C): Go to Car Settings > General > SWC Type > Learning Type and follow the on-screen instructions to program the controls.
  • Without Canbus (V1 Plus): Go to Settings > Car information > SWC > Learning Type and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • With Canbus: Ensure the 8-pin interface of the Canbus cable is connected. Then, select the correct Canbus type in the settings. If you are unsure of the Canbus model, contact customer service.

Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto Connection

For the initial connection:

  1. Turn on your phone's Bluetooth and pair it with the car's Bluetooth.
  2. After successful pairing, the car radio will automatically display the Zlink or AutoLink interface.
  3. Your phone will prompt a message to "use carplay with Zlink or AutoLink".
  4. Turn on your mobile phone's Wi-Fi, and CarPlay/Android Auto will connect automatically.

Wired CarPlay and Android Auto Connection

To connect via a wired connection:

  1. Use your original data cable to connect your phone to the 4-PIN USB cable of the radio.
  2. Enable the CarPlay/Android Auto function on your phone.
  3. Tap the "AutoLink" or "ZLINK5" icon on the device to establish the connection.

Operating Instructions

User Interface (UI 4.0)

The Junsun UI 4.0 features a professional design for safe driving. It includes a day and night mode that automatically switches based on your car's headlights, adjusting screen brightness to match ambient light. Common functions like navigation, music, and Bluetooth calls are integrated into the desktop for quick access.

The UI also allows for customizable adjustment icons, letting you arrange applications as desired.

Navigation

The device comes with built-in offline maps and provides permanent free updates. Online navigation is also supported, allowing you to use real-time maps and traffic information. Voice control can be used for navigation commands.

Audio Features (DSP Sound Adjustment)

The integrated DSP (Digital Sound Processor) optimizes sound quality. You can adjust various audio parameters including equalization (with 30 EQ settings and presets like Flat, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classic), delay, balance, sub-out, and filters (HPF/LPF).

Online Radio

Voice Control (Optional)

ADAS Dashcam (Optional)

Powerful Cooling Fan (V1 Plus/V2 Plus)

V1 Plus and V2 Plus models are equipped with a powerful cooling fan to prevent overheating and ensure smooth operation, especially during long-term use or when running multiple applications. The fan can be set to turn on automatically when the CPU temperature exceeds 70°C and off when it drops below 70°C, or it can be manually controlled.

Junsun Security App (4G Version)

For 4G versions, the Junsun Security app offers advanced features:

  • GPS Tracking (Locus Management): View driving tracks and parking locations on your phone.

Maintenance

  • Screen Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner.
  • Software Updates: Junsun provides free updates for Firmware, Software, UI, and Navigation maps. Regularly check for and install updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or very cold conditions.
  • Connectivity: Ensure all cables are securely connected. Periodically check connections for any signs of wear or damage.

Troubleshooting

Steering Wheel Control Issues

If your steering wheel controls are not working:

  • Check Canbus: Confirm if your product includes a Canbus module.
  • Without Canbus (V1/V1.C/V1 Pro/V1 Pro.C): Navigate to Car Settings > General > SWC Type > Learning Type and re-learn the controls.
  • Without Canbus (V1 Plus): Navigate to Settings > Car information > SWC > Learning Type and re-learn the controls.
  • With Canbus: Verify the 8-pin Canbus cable is properly connected. Then, select the correct Canbus type in the settings. If issues persist or you don't know the Canbus model, contact customer service.

CarPlay/Android Auto Connection Problems

If you experience difficulty connecting Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto:

  • Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is on and paired with the car's Bluetooth.
  • Check if the Zlink or AutoLink interface appears automatically.
  • Confirm your phone's Wi-Fi is enabled after Bluetooth pairing.
  • For wired connections, ensure you are using an original data cable and that the phone is connected to the 4-PIN USB cable.
  • Verify that the "AutoLink" or "ZLINK5" icon is selected on the device.

Boot Logo Display

Due to copyright issues, the boot logo may not be displayed by default. If you wish to modify the boot logo, please contact Junsun customer service for instructions.

No Sound or Poor Sound Quality

  • Check all speaker connections.
  • Verify DSP settings (Equalizer, Balance, Fader) are configured correctly.
  • Ensure the volume is not muted or set too low.

User Tips

  • 4G Version for Internet Users: If you frequently use internet-dependent features like online navigation or streaming, consider purchasing a 4G version to avoid draining your phone's battery by using it as a hotspot.
  • External Microphone: While the radio has a built-in microphone, an external microphone connected via an RCA cable can improve call quality.
  • Parking Sensors: Some users have inquired about parking sensor compatibility. The product supports original radar displaying for Ford Escape Kuga 2. If you have specific concerns about your car's parking sensors, consult with an installer or customer service.
