4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your TILTA Full Camera Cage, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the cage regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Screw Tightness: Periodically check all mounting screws, especially those securing the camera to the cage and any attached accessories, to ensure they remain tight. Loose screws can lead to instability or damage.
- Storage: When not in use, store the cage in a clean, dry environment, preferably in its original packaging or a protective case, to prevent scratches and damage.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your camera cage, consider the following common solutions:
- Cage Not Fitting Securely: Ensure the camera is correctly seated within the cage and that all three mounting points (top and two bottom screws) are properly aligned and tightened. Refer to the installation steps in Section 2.
- Accessories Not Attaching: Verify that the accessory's mounting thread or mechanism matches the cage's mounting points (e.g., 1/4"-20, 3/8"-16, Cold Shoe, NATO). Check for any obstructions or debris in the threads.
- Instability on Gimbal/Tripod: Confirm that the baseplate is securely attached to the gimbal or tripod. Ensure the camera and cage are balanced if using a gimbal.
