1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the NHT-4000W Variable Voltage Controller. This device is a high-power thyristor voltage regulator designed for stepless adjustment of AC voltage, allowing control over speed, temperature, voltage, and light intensity for various electrical components. Its compact and portable design makes it easy to use for a wide range of applications.
2. Safety Precautions
- Always ensure the metal casing of this product is safely grounded before operation.
- This device is designed for AC input and provides AC output. It does not convert AC to DC.
- The maximum power rating of 4000W applies to resistive loads (e.g., tungsten filament lamps, heating wires). For inductive loads (e.g., series motors), the effective power is approximately 1/3 of the resistive load rating.
- Use with caution for circuit board electronic products.
- Always connect a load of more than 20W before attempting to measure or adjust the output voltage. The instrument will not display a correct voltage in a no-load state.
3. Product Features
- Small size, portable, and powerful.
- High-power thyristor for stepless voltage adjustment.
- Independent switch control for input power.
- Fire-proof, heat-preserving, high-temperature resistant, rust-proof, and high-pressure resistant outer shell.
- Multifunctional industrial plug with thick copper design for good contact and reliability.
- Quiet operation and energy-saving design.

5. Setup Instructions
- Unpack: Carefully remove the voltage controller from its packaging.
- Identify Components: Familiarize yourself with the device's parts: the input cable, output plug, digital voltmeter, voltage adjustment knob, and overload protection switch.
- Connect Load: Plug your electrical appliance (load) into the output plug of the voltage controller. Ensure the appliance is switched ON before proceeding.
- Connect Power: Plug the input cable of the voltage controller into a suitable AC 220V power outlet.
- Grounding: Verify that the metal shell of the controller is properly grounded for safety.

6. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Turn on the main power switch on the voltage controller. The digital voltmeter should illuminate.
- Adjust Voltage: Slowly rotate the voltage adjustment knob clockwise to increase the output voltage, or counter-clockwise to decrease it. Observe the digital voltmeter for the current output voltage.
- Monitor Load: Pay attention to the behavior of your connected appliance as you adjust the voltage. For example, for a heater, increasing voltage will increase temperature; for a fan, increasing voltage will increase speed.
- Power Off: Once finished, turn the voltage adjustment knob to its minimum setting (0V), then switch off the main power switch. Unplug the device from the wall outlet.
7. Applications
The NHT-4000W Variable Voltage Controller is suitable for a variety of applications requiring adjustable AC voltage. It is particularly effective with:
Suitable Applications:
- Power Tools: Drills, grinders, planers, jigsaws, routers, circular saws, sanders, hammer drills, trimmers, wood routers.
- Resistance Electric Heating Class: Electric stoves, water heaters, heat transfer lamps (dimming), electric welding temperature control, electric blankets, fan heaters, soldering irons, heat guns, electric coil heaters, hot plates.
- Motor Fans: Various types of AC motor fans for speed control.

Not Applicable to the Following Products:
- Water pumps
- Motors (other than simple fans)
- Induction cookers
- Rice cookers
- LED lights

8. Maintenance
The NHT-4000W Variable Voltage Controller requires minimal maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust and moisture. Do not attempt to open the casing or perform repairs yourself, as this may void the warranty and pose a safety risk. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
9. Troubleshooting
- No Voltage Reading / Incorrect Reading: If the digital voltmeter shows a virtual voltage or no reading when powered on, ensure a load of more than 20W is connected to the output. The device requires a load to accurately measure and display the output voltage.
- Appliance Not Functioning: Check that the input power is AC 110-220V and that the output is also AC. This device does not convert AC to DC. Verify that the connected appliance is suitable for use with a variable AC voltage controller (refer to Section 7).
- Overload Protection: If the device stops working unexpectedly, check the overload protection switch. If it has tripped, reduce the load or ensure the load's power consumption is within the device's limits, then reset the switch.
10. User Tips
- This device functions as a voltage regulator, allowing you to adjust the output voltage. It does not stabilize voltage against network fluctuations or surges.
- For optimal performance and safety, always ensure the connected load is appropriate for the controller's specifications, especially regarding resistive vs. inductive loads.
