2.1 Controls and Components

3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the rear of the radio (refer to Figure 4).
- Slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
- Insert two (2) AAA batteries (not included), ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.
Note: Always use fresh batteries and remove them if the radio will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off and Band Selection
- To turn on the radio, slide the Power/Band switch (located on the right side) to either the "FM" or "AM" position.
- To select the desired band, move the Power/Band switch to "FM" for Frequency Modulation or "AM" for Amplitude Modulation.
- To turn off the radio, slide the Power/Band switch to the "POWER OFF" position.
4.2 Tuning to a Station
- Once the radio is powered on and the band is selected, slowly rotate the Tuning Knob (located on the left side) to scan for stations.
- For FM reception, extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its angle for the best signal.
- For AM reception, the radio uses an internal magnetic antenna. You may need to rotate the entire radio for optimal reception.
- The Tuning LED will illuminate when a strong signal is detected, indicating you are tuned to a station.
4.3 Adjusting Volume
- Rotate the Volume Knob (VOL.) located on the top edge of the radio to increase or decrease the sound level.
4.4 Using Headphones
- Plug any standard 3.5mm stereo headphones into the headphone jack on the top edge of the radio.
- The built-in speaker will automatically mute when headphones are connected.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the radio in a dry place away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.
- Antenna Care: Handle the telescopic antenna gently to avoid bending or breaking.

6.1 No Power / No Sound
- Ensure batteries are correctly installed with the correct polarity.
- Replace old or depleted batteries with fresh ones.
- Check if the Power/Band switch is set to "FM" or "AM" and not "POWER OFF".
- Increase the volume using the Volume Knob.
- If using headphones, ensure they are fully plugged in and functional.
6.2 Poor Reception / Static
- For FM: Fully extend and adjust the angle of the telescopic antenna.
- For AM: Rotate the entire radio to find the best signal orientation.
- Try tuning slightly to either side of the station frequency.
- Move away from electronic devices that may cause interference (e.g., computers, TVs, fluorescent lights).
- Relocate to an area with better signal strength, especially if indoors or in a basement.
