Ensure all connections are secure and correctly matched to your aftermarket head unit.

CANbus Configuration

For harnesses equipped with a CANbus protocol box, it is essential to configure your Android head unit correctly:

  1. Access the factory settings menu on your Android host.
  2. Navigate to the car bus configuration menu.
  3. Select the corresponding CANbus brand (SIMPLESOFT) and model (GM-SS-05).
  4. It is recommended to update the latest MCU and configuration file when the head unit is connected to WiFi.

Note: This product is recommended for use with Android hosts featuring mainstream solutions such as TOPWAY, XYAUTO, NOWADA, and FTYTEK. Some decoders may only be compatible with products from designated solution providers.

Operating Instructions

Once correctly installed and configured, the wiring harness and CANbus box operate automatically to provide power, speaker signals, and CANbus data to your aftermarket head unit. The CANbus box translates vehicle data (such as steering wheel controls, reverse signal, and illumination) into a format usable by the Android head unit.

Ensure your head unit's software is up-to-date to ensure optimal compatibility and performance with the CANbus system.

Maintenance

This product requires minimal maintenance. Ensure all connections remain secure and free from corrosion. Avoid exposing the CANbus box or wiring to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures. Periodically check for any loose connections, especially after driving on rough terrain.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power to Head Unit:
    • Verify all power connections (ACC, +12V, GND) are correctly wired and secure.
    • Check the fuse on the main power line (as shown in Figure 4).
    • Ensure the vehicle's ignition is on.
  • Steering Wheel Controls Not Working:
    • Confirm the KEY1 and KEY2 wires are correctly connected to your head unit.
    • Ensure the CANbus box is properly configured in your Android head unit's factory settings (select SIMPLESOFT, GM-SS-05).
    • Check for any available MCU or configuration file updates for your head unit.
  • No Sound from Speakers:
    • Verify all speaker wires (FL+, FL-, etc.) are correctly connected to the head unit and speakers.
    • Check the head unit's audio settings.
  • Reverse Camera Not Activating:
    • Ensure the REVERSE wire is correctly connected.
    • Verify the reverse video input cable is properly connected to the head unit.
    • Check the head unit's camera settings.
  • General Compatibility Issues:
    • Ensure your vehicle model and year are listed in the compatible models section.
