5.1 SIM Card Installation

Diagram showing SIM card insertion into the dash cam

Insert the SIM card into the designated slot.

  1. Ensure the dash camera is powered off.
  2. Locate the SIM card slot on the device.
  3. Carefully insert a compatible 4G LTE SIM card into the slot. Use the provided SIM card lock tool if necessary.
  4. Important: Verify your local 4G network bands are compatible with the AZDOME S58. Standard versions support 4G FDD: B1, B3, B5, B7, B8, B20 and TDD: B38, B39, B40, B41. American versions support FDD: B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B12, B17 and TDD: B38, B40, B41 (100M). Incompatible bands will prevent 4G functionality.

5.2 Memory Card Installation

  1. Ensure the dash camera is powered off.
  2. Locate the Micro SD/TF card slot.
  3. Insert a Class 10 or higher Micro SD/TF card (up to 128GB) into the slot until it clicks into place.
  4. It is recommended to format the memory card within the dash camera settings upon first use.

5.3 Dash Cam Placement & Power Connection

  1. Choose a discreet location on your windshield that does not obstruct your view, typically behind the rearview mirror.
  2. Clean the windshield surface thoroughly.
  3. Attach the dash cam using the provided 3M adhesive tape.
  4. Connect the power cable to the dash cam and plug it into your vehicle's power outlet (e.g., cigarette lighter socket). The camera will typically power on and begin recording automatically when the vehicle starts.

5.4 App Installation & Initial Setup

  1. Download the "CloudDVR" or "AZDOME APP" from your smartphone's app store (Android or iOS).
  2. Follow the in-app instructions to register an account and pair your AZDOME S58 dash camera. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the device or entering a device ID.
  3. Once paired, you can access live video, GPS tracking, and adjust settings remotely.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Recording

Diagram illustrating seamless loop recording with recording times for different card sizes

Seamless loop recording overwrites older files when the card is full.

The S58 automatically starts recording when powered on. Video is recorded in continuous loops (1, 2, or 3-minute segments). When the memory card is full, the oldest unprotected files are automatically overwritten.

6.2 4G LTE & Remote Monitoring

Remote monitoring features including live video, GPS tracking, and alerts

Remote monitoring features via the CloudDVR app.

With a properly installed and activated 4G SIM card, you can utilize the following features:

  • Live Video: View real-time video streams from your dash cam via the CloudDVR app.
  • GPS Tracking: Monitor your vehicle's location, route history, and speed in real-time on a map within the app or web platform.
  • Real-time Alerts: Receive instant notifications on your phone for events like theft or collisions.
  • Video Download & Sharing: Download recorded videos to your phone and share them directly to social media platforms.
  • WiFi Hotspot: Enable the 4G WiFi hotspot feature through the device settings or app to provide internet access for other devices in your vehicle.

6.3 Parking Monitor

24H Parking Monitor features: collision detection and 1FPS time-lapse record

24H Parking Monitor with collision detection and time-lapse recording.

To enable 24-hour parking monitoring, the dash cam must be connected to a continuous power source via a hardwire kit (sold separately). Once activated, the parking monitor offers:

  • Collision Detection: The G-sensor detects impacts while parked and triggers emergency recording. G-sensor sensitivity can be adjusted in settings.
  • 1FPS Time-Lapse Record: Records video at a low frame rate to conserve storage space, providing a condensed overview of events during parking.

6.4 G-Sensor

The built-in G-sensor automatically detects sudden acceleration, braking, or collisions. When an event is detected, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved to a protected folder on the memory card, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording.

6.5 NightShot Function

The cabin camera is equipped with 6 hidden IR LEDs, enabling clear video recording inside the car even in low-light or complete darkness conditions.

6.6 OSD Language Settings

You can change the display language of the dash camera through the device's on-screen menu or via the CloudDVR app settings. Navigate to 'System Settings' or 'Language' to select your preferred language.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Memory Card Management

To ensure optimal performance and prevent recording errors, it is recommended to:

  • Format Regularly: Format the Micro SD/TF card within the dash camera's settings every 2-4 weeks. This helps to clear fragmented files and maintain card health.
  • Replace Periodically: Memory cards have a limited lifespan due to continuous read/write cycles. Consider replacing your card annually or if you notice frequent recording issues.

7.2 Cleaning

Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the camera lenses and the display screen. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surfaces.

7.3 Firmware Updates

Periodically check the AZDOME official website or the CloudDVR app for available firmware updates. Keeping your dash cam's firmware up-to-date can improve performance, add new features, and fix bugs.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Dash Cam Not Powering On:
    • Check if the power cable is securely connected to both the dash cam and the vehicle's power outlet.
    • Ensure the vehicle's power outlet is functioning.
  • No 4G Connectivity:
    • Verify that the SIM card is correctly inserted and activated with a data plan.
    • Confirm that your SIM card's 4G network bands are compatible with the AZDOME S58 (refer to Section 5.1).
    • Check for network coverage in your area.
  • Recording Errors or Footage Corruption:
    • Ensure you are using a genuine Class 10 or higher Micro SD/TF card.
    • Format the memory card regularly within the dash cam settings.
    • The memory card may be faulty or nearing its end of life; try replacing it.
  • Parking Monitor Not Functioning:
    • Confirm that a hardwire kit is correctly installed and providing continuous power to the dash cam.
    • Check parking monitor settings in the device menu or app.
  • App Connection Issues:
    • Ensure the dash cam has an active 4G connection or is connected to a WiFi network.
    • Verify your smartphone has an active internet connection.
    • Restart both the dash cam and your smartphone.
  • Poor Image Quality:
    • Clean the camera lenses with a soft cloth.
    • Check the video resolution settings in the dash cam menu or app.

9. User Tips

  • Memory Card Selection: For optimal performance and reliable recording, especially with 2K/1080P video, always use a high-quality, reputable brand (e.g., SanDisk, Samsung, Kingston) Class 10, U3, V30 rated microSD card. Generic or lower-spec cards can lead to recording errors or data loss.
  • 4G Data Plan: If you plan to use remote monitoring, live video, or WiFi hotspot features frequently, ensure your SIM card has a sufficient data plan to avoid unexpected charges or service interruptions.
  • Hardwire Kit for Parking: To fully utilize the 24-hour parking monitoring features, including collision detection and time-lapse recording, a dedicated hardwire kit is essential to provide continuous power to the dash cam when the vehicle is off.
