Product Overview

The RadioLink R7EH is a compact and reliable 7-channel 2.4GHz receiver designed for use with RadioLink T6EAP, T6EHP, and T7F series transmitters. It utilizes advanced 2.4GHz technology to provide stable and interference-free control for various RC models.

Key Features:

  • 7-Channel output for comprehensive control.
  • 2.4GHz frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology.
  • Compact and lightweight design.
  • Compatible with specific RadioLink transmitters.

Setup Instructions

1. Binding the Receiver to the Transmitter:

  1. Ensure both your transmitter (T6EAP, T6EHP, or T7F) and receiver are powered off.
  2. Connect a bind plug (not included, typically comes with the transmitter or flight controller) to the BIND/VCC port on the R7EH receiver.
  3. Power on the receiver. The LED indicator on the receiver should start flashing rapidly, indicating it's in binding mode.
  4. While holding down the bind button on your transmitter (refer to your transmitter's manual for exact location), power on the transmitter.
  5. The LED on the receiver should turn solid, indicating a successful bind.
  6. Release the bind button on the transmitter and power off both the receiver and transmitter.
  7. Remove the bind plug from the receiver.
  8. Power on the transmitter first, then the receiver. The receiver's LED should be solid, confirming the connection.

2. Connecting Servos and ESC:

Connect your servos, Electronic Speed Controller (ESC), and other components to the corresponding channels on the receiver. Pay close attention to the polarity markings on the receiver ports.

RadioLink R7EH Receiver port details with polarity

Figure 2: Receiver port details showing polarity (Л+-) for correct connection.

  • Signal (S): Typically the top pin, usually white or yellow wire.
  • Positive (+): Middle pin, usually red wire.
  • Negative (-): Bottom pin, usually black or brown wire.

Incorrect polarity can damage the receiver or connected components.

Operating Instructions

  1. Always power on your transmitter first, then your receiver.
  2. After powering on the receiver, ensure the LED indicator is solid, confirming a stable connection to the transmitter.
  3. Test all control surfaces and functions before operating your RC model.
  4. Always power off your receiver first, then your transmitter, to prevent accidental movements or loss of control.

Range and Interference:

The 2.4GHz system offers excellent range and interference resistance. However, always perform a range check before flying, especially in new environments. Avoid operating near large metal objects, power lines, or other strong radio frequency sources that could interfere with the signal.

Maintenance

  • Keep the receiver clean and free from dust, dirt, and moisture.
  • Avoid exposing the receiver to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Regularly inspect all wiring and connections for signs of wear or damage.
  • Ensure the antenna is not cut, bent sharply, or obstructed, as this can significantly reduce range.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Receiver LED not solid after binding/power-onNot bound, out of range, or interference.Re-perform binding procedure. Ensure transmitter is on and close to receiver. Check for strong interference sources.
No response from servos/ESCIncorrect wiring, power issue, or faulty component.Check all connections for correct polarity and secure fit. Verify power supply to receiver and components. Test components individually if possible.
Reduced range or intermittent signalDamaged antenna, interference, or low transmitter/receiver battery.Inspect receiver antenna for damage. Avoid operating near known interference sources. Ensure batteries are fully charged.

User Tips

  • Antenna Placement: For optimal signal reception, ensure the receiver antenna is positioned away from carbon fiber, metal parts, and other electronics. Try to orient the antenna at a 90-degree angle to the other antenna (if applicable) or away from large conductive surfaces.
  • Power Source: Always use a stable and appropriate power source for your receiver, typically provided by the ESC's BEC or a dedicated UBEC. Verify the voltage is within the receiver's operating range.
  • Pre-Flight Checks: Before each use, perform a thorough pre-flight check, including range testing and verifying all control surfaces respond correctly and in the right direction.
