3. Operating Instructions (B02 Display Instrument)

3.1. Button Definition

The B02 display has three buttons: a "Switch" button (power key), a "Plus" button (+), and a "Minus" button (-). Their functions are as follows:

• "+" Key: Long press to turn on/off headlights.
• Power Key (Switch Button): Used for power on/off and menu navigation.
• "-" Key: Long press to enter/cancel boost mode.

3.2. General Operations

The B02 display offers various UI theme styles and language options. This manual illustrates using Theme1 and the English version.

Note: "Press and hold the key > 2.5S" is referred to as "Long press", and "Hold down the key < 0.5S" is referred to as "Click".

3.2.1. Power On/Off

1. To Power On: Long press the "Switch button". The instrument will power on.
2. To Power Off: In the boot state, long press the "Switch button" to power down the system.

Upon boot, you may need to enter a password. The initial password defaults to 0000.

3.2.2. Power Gear Selection

After entering the main interface, click the "+" or "-" button to switch the power boost gear. The default gear range is 0-5. Gear 0 has no power output, Gear 1 is the lowest power, and Gear 5 is the highest power. The display defaults to Variable 0 when powered on.

3.2.3. Headlight/Backlight Switch

1. To Turn On Headlights: Long press the "+" key when the headlights are off. The screen headlight logo will light up, and the instrument brightness will dim.
2. To Turn Off Headlights: Long press the "+" key when the headlights are on. The screen headlight logo will remain, but the display will be grayed out.

3.2.4. Booster Mode

When the e-bike is stationary, click the "-" button to set the gear to 0. Click the "-" key again to activate the static boost logo and enter booster mode.

In push mode, the boost logo is dynamically displayed. If the vehicle speed is less than 6km/h, the push state stops, the screen boost logo disappears, and the static boost logo state is restored. Under static boost, if no button is pressed within 5 seconds, it automatically adjusts to gear 0.

3.3. Main Interface Display

The main interface provides real-time information about your ride.

1. Headlight Display: Indicates headlights on/off state.
2. Navigation Function: When connected to the mobile app and navigation starts, the status bar logo lights up. (Note: Real-time navigation may require a fee).
3. Maintenance Tips: Displays reminders for vehicle breakdowns or regular maintenance.
4. Cruise Control: Icon lights up when the vehicle enters cruise mode.
5. Bluetooth Function: Bluetooth logo lights up when the mobile app is successfully connected.
6. Power Alert: Prompts real-time power level.
7. Real-time Speed Display: Shows current speed.
8. Gear Display: Shows current gear.
9. Single Mileage: Distance covered in the current ride.
10. Accumulated Mileage: Total distance accumulated.
11. Average Riding Speed: Average speed for the current ride.

3.4. Navigation Interface

When the mobile phone application connects to the display via Bluetooth, selects a destination, and starts navigation, the main interface changes to show navigation details.

• Current Steering Prompt and Distance: Guidance for the current turn.
• Next Turn Prompt and Distance: Guidance for the upcoming turn.
• End Distance: Total remaining distance to the destination.

The navigation icon lights up to indicate active navigation. The Bluetooth icon confirms the phone app is connected.

4. Settings and Information Viewing

To access settings, click the "Power" key to enter the list of setting information. Use the "+" or "-" keys to navigate, and click "Power" to select or confirm.

4.1. Display Settings

Navigate to "Display Setting" in the menu.

1. Imperial and Metric Unit Conversion: Select "Unit" and choose "Metric" or "Imperial". The device defaults to the imperial system.
2. Auto Power Off: Select "Auto Off" and choose a time (1-10 minutes) or "OFF" to disable. Any operation during the auto-shutdown time will reset the timer. Page 12 of the manual shows the auto power off options.
3. Zero Mileage in a Single Visit (Trip Reset): Select "Trip Reset" and choose "YES" to clear the current trip mileage and average speed, or "NO" to keep it. Page 12 of the manual shows the trip reset options.
4. Backlight Brightness Setting: Select "Brightness" and choose a percentage (30%, 50%, 75%, 100%). Page 13 of the manual shows backlight brightness settings.
5. Max PAS (Maximum Gear Setting): This setting is not adjustable.
6. BT RSSI Level (Bluetooth Distance Class Setting): This setting indicates Bluetooth signal strength. 1 is near, 5 is far. (Note: Performance may vary slightly between different phones). Page 13 of the manual shows Bluetooth RSSI level settings.

4.2. Information Viewing

Navigate to "Information" in the menu.

1. Wheel Size: Set the wheel diameter (e.g., 16-29 inches). The default is 26 inches (660mm).
2. Speed Limit:
   • For km/h metric units, the default speed limit is 36km/h.
   • For mile imperial units, the default speed limit is 2.50MPH.
   • Adjustable range: 00-100km/h.
3. Instrument Information (Display Info): Shows software (SW) and hardware (HW) version numbers of the instrument.
4. Fault Code: Displays error messages. "E-CODE 0" is the last error, "E-CODE 9" is the tenth error. "00" means no error. Page 15 of the manual shows the fault code display interface.

4.3. Language Selection

Navigate to "Language" in the menu. The B02 display supports English, Deutsch (German), and Español (Spanish).

4.4. Theme Menu

Navigate to "Themes" in the menu. The B02 display offers 4 different theme styles (Theme 1-4).

4.5. Password Settings

Navigate to "Password" in the menu.

1. To Turn Off Password Function: Page 17 of the B02 intelligent display instrument manual shows the steps and interface for turning off the password function. Select "Start Password" (if status is "On"), click to confirm. Enter your current password (default 0000) using "+"/"-" to toggle numbers and "Power" to switch digits. The system will confirm successful password function closure.
2. To Turn On Password Function: Page 18 of the B02 intelligent display instrument manual shows the steps and interface for turning on and setting/modifying the password. Select "Start Password" (if status is "Off"), click to confirm. Enter a new password, then confirm it. The system will confirm successful password function activation.
3. To Set/Modify Password: Select "Reset Password". Enter your old password, then enter and confirm the new password.

⚠️️ Important: Do not change the initial password unless it is necessary. After the initial password is modified, to enable the display password function, you need to enter a new password to turn it on.

4.6. Bluetooth Connection

Navigate to "Bluetooth" in the menu. The display will show a QR code.

Use the mobile APP to scan the two-dimensional code to bind the device. After successful binding, the display automatically jumps to the main interface, and the Bluetooth function ID lights up.

5. Maintenance and Safety

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your e-bike controller and display instrument.

• Keep the controller and display clean and free from dust and moisture.
• Periodically check all cable connections for tightness and signs of wear.
• If the display shows "Maintenance tips", address any indicated issues promptly.

5.1. Safety Precautions

• Ensure proper ventilation around the controller during operation.
• Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
• Do not attempt to open or modify the controller or display unit, as this may void the warranty and pose safety risks.

6. Troubleshooting

The B02 display instrument can show various error codes to help diagnose issues. Refer to the table below for common error codes and their troubleshooting methods.

7. User Tips

• Compatibility: The controller is designed for HIMO Z20, Z16, Z14, and C20 models. While some components might be interchangeable (e.g., C20 for Z20), always verify compatibility with your specific e-bike model before installation.
• Wiring: Pay close attention to the number of pins on your main sockets (e.g., 9-pin or 10-pin) to ensure correct connection. If unsure, consult a professional.
• Navigation Fees: Be aware that real-time navigation features on the B02 display may require an additional fee through the mobile application.
• Password Management: The initial password for the B02 display is 0000. Change it only if necessary and remember your new password.
• Bluetooth Performance: Bluetooth signal strength and connection stability can vary slightly depending on the mobile phone used.
