1. Introduction
The XUNATA 2835 LED Strip Light is a versatile lighting solution designed for various indoor and outdoor decorative and functional applications. Available in multiple lengths (5m, 10m, 15m, 20m) and LED densities (60, 120, 180, 240, 480 LEDs/m), these strips offer high brightness, excellent color rendering (CRI > 80), and a continuous length design that minimizes voltage drop, especially in 24V versions. They are flexible, cuttable, and come in both non-waterproof (IP21) and waterproof (IP65) variants, providing adaptability for different environments.
2. Safety Information
- Ensure the power supply matches the strip's voltage (DC 12V or DC 24V). Connecting to an incorrect voltage can damage the strip and pose a fire hazard.
- Always disconnect power before installation, cutting, or maintenance.
- Do not operate the LED strip while it is still coiled on the reel. Always unroll the entire strip before connecting it to power. Operating a coiled strip will cause it to overheat rapidly and can lead to damage or fire.
- Avoid bending the strip sharply or at angles less than 90 degrees, as this can damage the circuit board and LEDs.
- For IP21 (non-waterproof) strips, avoid exposure to moisture or water. For IP65 (waterproof) strips, ensure all connections are properly sealed if used in wet environments.
- Keep out of reach of children. The low voltage (12V/24V) makes it safer than 110V strips, but proper handling is still required.
3. Package Contents
Your package should contain:
- 1 roll of XUNATA SMD2835 LED Strip Light (length and LED density as per your selection)

5. Setup and Installation
5.1 Preparation
- Unroll the Strip: Before connecting to any power source, completely unroll the entire LED strip from its reel. Failure to do so will cause severe overheating and damage.
- Choose Location: Select a clean, dry, and smooth surface for installation. Ensure the surface is free from dust, oil, or moisture.
- Gather Tools: You will need a compatible DC power supply (12V or 24V, matching your strip), appropriate connectors, and potentially a dimmer if desired.
5.2 Cutting the LED Strip
The LED strip can be cut to your desired length. Locate the designated cut marks, typically indicated by a scissor icon or copper pads, along the strip. These marks are usually found every 6 LEDs. Cutting at any other point will damage the circuit and render that section of the strip unusable.
- Use sharp scissors to make a clean cut directly on the designated line.
- The strip can be re-soldered at these cut points if needed for custom configurations.

5.3 Power Connection
- Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) wires of the LED strip to a compatible DC power supply (12V or 24V, matching your strip's voltage). Ensure correct polarity.
- If using a dimmer, connect it between the power supply and the LED strip, following the dimmer's instructions.
- Ensure all connections are secure and insulated to prevent short circuits.
5.4 Mounting
The LED strip typically features an adhesive backing for easy installation. Peel off the protective layer from the adhesive and firmly press the strip onto the prepared surface. For waterproof (IP65) strips, ensure the adhesive surface is clean and dry before application. For outdoor or high-moisture applications, additional clips or silicone sealant may be required to secure the strip and protect connections.

6. Operating Instructions
- Once the LED strip is securely installed and connected to the appropriate power supply, plug in the power supply to an electrical outlet.
- The LED strip should illuminate.
- If a dimmer is installed, use its controls to adjust the brightness of the LED strip.
- To turn off the LED strip, unplug the power supply or use a switch if one is integrated into your setup.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the LED strip with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For waterproof strips, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no water enters connections. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Periodically check the strip and connections for any signs of damage, loose wiring, or wear.
- Storage: If removing the strip for storage, ensure it is clean and dry. Coil it loosely and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
8. Troubleshooting
- Strip does not light up:
- Check if the power supply is correctly connected and receiving power.
- Verify that the LED strip's positive (+) and negative (-) wires are connected with correct polarity to the power supply.
- Ensure the power supply's voltage matches the LED strip's voltage (12V or 24V).
- Inspect the strip for any visible damage or cuts outside the designated cut marks.
- Part of the strip is not lighting up:
- This usually indicates a damaged section. If the strip was cut, ensure the cut was made precisely on the designated mark.
- Check for any physical damage or breaks in the circuit path.
- Strip is overheating:
- Immediately disconnect power. Ensure the entire strip is unrolled and not coiled during operation.
- Verify that the power supply is appropriate for the total wattage of the strip. An undersized power supply can cause issues, but more commonly, overheating is due to the strip being coiled.
- Uneven brightness:
- While 24V strips are designed for minimal voltage drop, ensure the power supply is adequate for the total length and wattage.
- Check for loose connections or damaged sections.
9. User Tips
- Always Unroll: To prevent overheating and damage, always fully unroll the LED strip from its reel before connecting it to a power source.
- External Components: Remember that the power supply and any necessary connectors or dimmers are not included and must be purchased separately. Ensure they are compatible with your chosen LED strip's voltage (12V or 24V).
- Custom Lengths: The strip is designed to be cuttable at specific intervals (every 6 LEDs). Look for the designated cut marks to customize the length without damaging the circuit.
- Dimmability: If you wish to dim your LED strip, you will need a compatible LED dimmer switch, which is sold separately.
- Water Protection: Choose the appropriate IP rating (IP21 for dry indoor use, IP65 for areas exposed to moisture) for your application. For IP65 strips, ensure all connections are properly sealed to maintain water resistance.
