The SPM01 energy meter is designed for quick and easy installation within your electrical panel. Please follow these steps carefully.

5.1. Pre-installation Checklist

  • Ensure you have the correct version (Zigbee or WiFi) for your smart home setup.
  • Confirm the device's specifications (e.g., 63A max current) are suitable for your application.
  • Gather necessary tools: screwdriver, voltage tester.

5.2. Installation Steps

  1. Turn off Power: Open your electrical panel and turn off the main power supply to prevent electric shock. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
  2. Disconnect Live Wire: Disconnect the live wire connected to the circuit breaker where you intend to install the energy meter.
  3. Determine Current Direction: The energy meter has an arrow printed on its cover. Ensure the current's direction matches the direction of this arrow when passing the live wire through the meter's hole.
  4. Pass the Wire: Carefully pass the disconnected live wire through the designated through-hole on the energy meter.
  5. Reconnect Wires: Reconnect the live wire (now passing through the energy meter) back to the circuit breaker. Connect the neutral wire from the energy meter to the neutral bus bar in your electrical panel.
  6. Secure Connections: Ensure all wire connections are tight and secure.
  7. Restore Power: Close your electrical panel and reconnect the main power supply.
