6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Real-time Monitoring

  • Indoor Unit: The 4.3-inch LCD screen automatically displays the outdoor view when the doorbell is pressed or motion is detected.
  • Tuya App: Open the Tuya Smart app on your smartphone to view the live feed from the camera anytime, anywhere.

6.2. Two-Way Intercom

  • When a visitor presses the doorbell, the indoor unit will ring and display the outdoor view. A video call request will also be sent to your smartphone via the Tuya app.
  • Answer the call on your smartphone to speak with the visitor. The voice communication is clear.

6.3. PIR Motion Detection

  • The PIR sensor detects continuous motion in front of the camera (typically 3-5 seconds of movement).
  • Upon detection, an alarm message is sent to your mobile phone, and the outdoor situation is recorded in real-time.
  • You can adjust the sensitivity of the PIR function within the Tuya app.
  • The app allows you to give language warnings to suspicious individuals outdoors.

  • This ensures clear monitoring of the outdoor environment even in complete darkness, with an effective distance of about 3 meters.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the indoor and outdoor units. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Charging: The device is powered by a built-in 5000mAh lithium-ion battery. When the battery level drops below 5%, the Tuya app will send a low battery reminder. Recharge the device using the provided micro USB cable and a DC5V 1A power adapter.
  • Software Updates: Regularly check the Tuya Smart app for any available firmware updates for your device to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the outdoor unit is not exposed to extreme weather conditions beyond its operating temperature range (-20℃ to 55℃).

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not linking to APP when battery is low: This is expected behavior. The device will not link to the app when the battery power is less than 5%. Recharge the battery fully.
  • PIR motion detection delay: A slight delay of a few seconds may occur due to network caching. This is normal. You can adjust the sensitivity settings in the Tuya app.
  • Startup delay: There may be a delay of a few seconds when starting up the device. This is a normal phenomenon designed to protect the electronic components.
  • Cannot connect to WiFi: Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4Ghz. The device does not support 5Ghz WiFi. Check your WiFi password and signal strength.
  • No image or poor image quality: Check the camera lens for obstructions or dirt. Ensure the outdoor unit is properly installed and aligned. For night vision, ensure no strong light sources are directly facing the camera.
  • Bell volume adjustment: The bell volume can be adjusted through the settings within the Tuya Smart app.

9. User Tips

  • Always measure your door thickness and peephole diameter before purchasing to ensure compatibility.
  • Download the Tuya Smart app for full functionality and remote control.
  • Adjust the PIR motion detection sensitivity in the app to suit your environment and avoid false alarms.
  • If you do not use an SD card, video recordings will occupy your phone's memory.
  • Remember that intercom with visitors is primarily handled through the mobile phone app, not directly via the indoor monitor.
