Power Specifications

The NVR and cameras require specific power adapters. By default, the appropriate power supply for your region will be included. If you require a different specification, please ensure to note this when ordering.

Connection Modes

Your ANRAN Wireless NVR system supports two primary connection modes:

  • Wireless Connection: The NVR and cameras connect to your router via Wi-Fi. No RJ45 network cable is required between the NVR and the router for this mode (supported only by NVR model K8508).
  • Wired Connection: For a more stable signal, the NVR can be connected to your router using an RJ45 network cable. The connection between the NVR and the cameras remains wireless (via Wi-Fi).

NVR WiFi Signal Range

The effective Wi-Fi range of the NVR is influenced by its surrounding environment:

  • In a completely open area, the NVR can maintain a connection with cameras up to 50 meters away.
  • If there are solid walls or other obstructions, the effective range will be reduced to approximately 10-20 meters. Plan your camera placement accordingly to ensure optimal signal strength.

Operating Instructions

Remote Access

Access your surveillance system remotely from your smartphone or tablet using the ARCCTV app. This allows you to view live feeds, playback recorded footage, and receive alerts from anywhere with an internet connection.

To set up remote access:

  1. Download the "ARCCTV" app from your device's app store (available for iPhone OS and Android).
  2. Follow the in-app instructions to add your NVR device. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the NVR or entering its device ID.
  3. Once added, you can view live camera feeds and access recorded video.

See the "Remote Access" demonstration in Video 1 (starting at 1:43).

Motion Detection

The system supports motion detection, which can trigger recording and send alerts to your mobile device. This feature helps you stay informed of any activity in monitored areas without constant manual checking.

To configure motion detection:

  1. Access the NVR's menu via the connected monitor and mouse.
  2. Navigate to the alarm or motion detection settings.
  3. Enable motion detection for desired cameras and configure sensitivity levels and recording schedules.
  4. Ensure push notifications are enabled in the ARCCTV app settings on your mobile device to receive alerts.

See the "Motion Detected" demonstration in Video 1 (starting at 1:47).

Multi-Language Support

The NVR system interface supports multiple languages, allowing users to operate the system in their preferred language. Supported languages include English, Korean, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, French, and Hebrew.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your ANRAN NVR system:

  • Cleanliness: Keep the NVR unit and cameras free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the NVR has adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. Do not block air vents.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check for and install firmware updates for your NVR and cameras. Updates often include performance improvements, bug fixes, and security enhancements.
  • Hard Drive Health: If your NVR has a built-in hard drive, monitor its health through the NVR's system settings. Consider replacing it if errors or warnings appear.
  • Cable Connections: Regularly check all cable connections (power, HDMI/VGA, Ethernet) to ensure they are secure.

Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:

  • No Video Output on Monitor:
    • Ensure the NVR is powered on and the power adapter is securely connected.
    • Check the HDMI-Compatible or VGA cable connection between the NVR and the monitor.
    • Verify the monitor input source is correctly selected (e.g., HDMI1, VGA).
  • Cameras Not Connecting to NVR:
    • Confirm cameras are powered on and within the NVR's Wi-Fi range (refer to "NVR WiFi Signal Range" section).
    • Ensure cameras are compatible with the "ARCCTV" APP and not the "ANRAN" APP (refer to "Important Remarks" section).
    • If cameras were previously paired, try re-pairing them through the NVR's menu.
  • No Recording/Hard Drive Issues:
    • Verify that a hard drive is installed and properly connected (SATA 2.5'' HDD).
    • Check the hard drive status in the NVR's system settings. It may need to be formatted or initialized.
    • Ensure recording schedules are correctly configured.
  • Remote Access Not Working:
    • Ensure the NVR is connected to the internet (either wirelessly or via Ethernet cable).
    • Verify your mobile device has an active internet connection.
    • Check that the ARCCTV app is updated to the latest version.
    • Confirm the NVR is correctly added to your ARCCTV account.
  • System Slow or Unresponsive:
    • Restart the NVR.
    • Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent overheating.
    • Check for available firmware updates.

User Tips

  • Hard Drive Installation: If your NVR did not come with a pre-installed hard drive, you will need to install a 2.5'' SATA hard drive for recording. Ensure it is properly seated and formatted via the NVR's system settings.
  • Camera Quantity: This NVR supports up to 8 channels. If you have more than 8 cameras, you will need an NVR with higher channel capacity.
  • Optimal Placement: For best wireless performance, place the NVR in a central location, avoiding major obstructions like thick walls or large metal objects between the NVR and cameras.
  • Regular Backups: Periodically back up important footage from the NVR to an external USB drive or network storage.
