2. Setup Instructions

2.1 Package Contents

The standard package includes the BWT901CL sensor. Please check for any visible damage upon receipt.

2.2 Software and Documentation

To get started, you will need the WitMotion PC software and/or the Smartphone APP. Comprehensive tutorials, drivers, and sample code are available through the WitMotion document center.

2.3 Device Connection

  1. Power On: Turn on all BWT901CL devices using their respective power switches.
  2. Open WitMotion APP: Launch the WitMotion application on your mobile phone or PC software on your computer.
  3. Select Device: In the application, click 'Select Product' or 'Select Device' and choose 'BWT901CL'.
  4. Search and Connect: Click 'Search Device'. The application will list available Bluetooth devices (e.g., HC-06 ports). Connect to each device one by one. Once connected, you will see real-time data from the sensor(s).

PC Connection Notes:

  • For stable data transmission to a Windows PC, a USB-HID adapter is recommended.
  • If connecting multiple sensors to a PC simultaneously, you may need multiple adapters.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Using the PC Software

The free WitMotion PC software provides a comprehensive interface for interacting with your BWT901CL sensor. It allows for real-time data visualization, recording, and advanced configuration.

Software Functions:

  • Data Display: View real-time acceleration, angular velocity, angle, and magnetic field data in charts and numerical formats.
  • Data Recording & Playback: Record sensor data for later analysis and playback.
  • Configuration Settings: Adjust parameters such as acceleration and magnetic calibration, placement direction, output frequency, bandwidth, and selectable output content.

3.2 Using the Smartphone APP

The WitMotion free app is available on Android and iOS. It allows for easy configuration and data management directly from your smartphone.

  • Configuration: Easily adjust various settings of the sensor.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Charging the Device

The BWT901CL features a built-in 3.7V Li-battery with 260mAh capacity, providing approximately 4 hours of continuous operation. Charge the device using a standard Type-C cable.

4.2 General Care

  • Keep the device dry and clean.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Handle with care to prevent physical damage.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Connection Issues

  • Device not found: Ensure the BWT901CL is powered on and within the 10m Bluetooth range.
  • Unstable PC connection: For Windows PC, a dedicated USB-HID Bluetooth adapter is recommended for stable data transmission. Laptop's built-in Bluetooth may have limited range or stability.
  • Multiple devices: If connecting several sensors to a PC, ensure you have a sufficient number of Bluetooth adapters, as each sensor may require its own connection.

5.2 Software Compatibility

  • The WitMotion PC software is compatible with Windows systems only (Win 11, 10, 8, 7, XP).
  • For Linux, Python, or Mac systems, new SDKs are planned for future release. Please monitor WitMotion announcements for updates.

5.3 Data Accuracy

  • Perform acceleration and magnetic calibration regularly using the provided software to maintain optimal accuracy.
  • Ensure the sensor is placed in a stable environment during calibration.
