- Turn on the machine and allow it to heat up.
- Run a cycle of hot water through the coffee spout without any coffee grounds. Repeat this process 2-3 times to clean the system.
- Run steam through the steam wand for a few seconds to clear any air.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Making Espresso
- Ensure the water tank is filled with fresh water.
- Add desired amount of coffee powder to the portafilter. Tamp the coffee evenly.
- Attach the portafilter securely to the brewing head.
- Place one or two espresso cups on the drip tray, under the coffee spouts.
- Turn on the machine and wait for the indicator light to show it's ready for brewing (usually when the boiler has reached optimal temperature).
- Select the espresso brewing function (single or double shot, if available). The machine will automatically extract the coffee.
- Once brewing is complete, turn off the brewing function.
- Carefully remove the portafilter and discard the used coffee grounds.
5.2 Frothing Milk for Cappuccino/Latte
- Fill a milk frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
- Turn the machine to the steam function and wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate.
- Position the steam nozzle just below the surface of the milk in the pitcher.
- Open the steam valve to release steam into the milk. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.
- Once the milk is frothed to your desired consistency and temperature, close the steam valve.
- Wipe the steam nozzle immediately with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.
- Pour the frothed milk over your freshly brewed espresso to create a cappuccino or latte.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your coffee machine. Always unplug the machine and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray: Remove and empty the drip tray after each use. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Water Tank: Empty and rinse the water tank daily. Refill with fresh water for each use.
- Portafilter and Filter Basket: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water.
- Steam Nozzle: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam nozzle with a damp cloth. Briefly open the steam valve to clear any milk residue from inside the nozzle.
- Machine Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
6.2 Descaling (Monthly or as needed)
Depending on water hardness, descaling should be performed regularly to prevent mineral buildup. Use a commercial descaling solution suitable for coffee machines or a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio).
- Empty the water tank and fill it with the descaling solution.
- Place a large container under the coffee spout and steam nozzle.
- Turn on the machine and run half of the descaling solution through the coffee spout.
- Then, run the remaining half through the steam nozzle.
- Turn off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Empty and rinse the water tank thoroughly. Fill it with fresh water.
- Run several cycles of fresh water through both the coffee spout and steam nozzle to rinse out any descaling solution.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No coffee dispenses / Slow flow | Water tank empty; Coffee too finely ground or over-tamped; Clogged filter basket; Machine needs descaling. | Refill water tank; Use coarser grind or less pressure when tamping; Clean filter basket; Perform descaling. |
| Weak coffee | Insufficient coffee grounds; Coffee too coarsely ground; Water not hot enough. | Increase coffee amount; Use finer grind; Allow machine to fully heat up. |
| No steam from nozzle | Steam nozzle clogged; Machine not heated to steam temperature. | Clean steam nozzle with a pin; Wait for steam indicator light to be ready. |
| Water leaking from machine | Water tank not seated correctly; Drip tray full; Seal issues. | Ensure water tank is properly inserted; Empty drip tray; Contact customer support if seals are damaged. |

9. User Tips
- Grind Size Matters: For optimal espresso extraction, use a fine grind. If coffee flows too quickly, the grind might be too coarse. If it flows too slowly or not at all, the grind might be too fine or over-tamped.
- Pre-warm Your Cups: Use the ad hoc temperature cup area or rinse your cups with hot water before brewing to keep your espresso warmer for longer.
- Check Electrical Standards: Always verify that the machine's voltage and plug type are compatible with your local electrical standards. If an adapter is needed, ensure it is rated for the machine's power consumption.
- Fresh Water is Key: Always use fresh, cold water for the best coffee taste.
