8. User Tips

  • Pipe Detection: This device indicates moisture levels within a wall but does not locate water pipes directly. It can help identify areas of moisture that might suggest a pipe burst, but it's not a pipe finder.
  • Material Compatibility: The WM700A is designed for wood (softwood, hardwood), drywall, and masonry. It may not provide accurate readings for other materials like sand, earth, or concrete, as these are not specified in its measurement modes.
  • Optimal Measurement: For best results, ensure the sensor area is fully in contact with the surface and the material meets the minimum thickness and area requirements (thickness > 20mm, area > 40x40mm).

9. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: If the device is not used for a long period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage.

10. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Device does not power on Low or dead batteries; Incorrect battery installation Replace batteries; Check battery polarity
Inaccurate readings Incorrect material selection; Sensor not fully in contact; Needs calibration Select correct material; Ensure full sensor contact; Perform zero calibration
Buzzer alarm sounds frequently High moisture content detected This indicates high moisture. Verify the material and take appropriate action.
