4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation

The LT1 Q8 is powered by four 18650 Li-Ion button top batteries. For optimal performance and to avoid drawing very high current from a single battery, it is highly recommended to use all four batteries. The lantern can operate with fewer batteries, but this is not recommended for sustained use.

  1. Unscrew the tail cap of the lantern.
  2. Insert the 18650 batteries with the positive (+) terminal facing towards the head of the lantern.
  3. Carefully screw the tail cap back on, ensuring a tight seal to maintain water resistance.

4.2. Charging

The LT1 Q8 features a convenient USB-C charging port. It supports 5V 2A fast charging.

  1. Connect the provided USBA to USBC charging cable to the lantern's USB-C port.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible USB-A power source (e.g., cellphone charger, laptop, power bank, car charger). A 5V adapter is NOT included.
  3. While charging, the button LED on the lantern will glow red.
  4. The LED will turn green once the batteries are fully charged.

The lantern can also be operated without batteries directly attached to a USB power adapter, though this is not its primary mode of operation.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the lantern with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • O-rings: Periodically check and lubricate the O-rings to maintain water resistance. Replace if damaged.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid over-discharging or over-charging batteries.
  • Storage: If storing the lantern for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Lantern not turning on: Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and fully charged. Check the tail cap is screwed on tightly.
  • Charging issues: Verify the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the lantern and the power source. Ensure the power source provides 5V 2A.
  • Anduril 2.0 version check: To determine if your lantern has Anduril 2.0 firmware, when the light is off, click the button 15 times. The lantern will flash a version number.

8. User Tips

  • For optimal performance and runtime, always use four fully charged 18650 batteries.
  • The adjustable tint (2700K-5000K) is a great feature for adapting to different environments and personal preferences. Use warmer tints for a cozy atmosphere and cooler tints for better visibility.
  • The lantern's waterproof feature makes it suitable for various outdoor conditions, but always ensure all caps are tightly sealed.
  • Explore the Anduril 2.0 UI diagram to unlock the full potential of the lantern's advanced modes and customizations.
