1. Introduction

The ZIFON YT-1000 Motorized Panoramic Head is a versatile pan-tilt device designed for both phones and DSLR cameras. 4. Setup Guide

4.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the YT-1000. Connect a Type-C charging cable to the charging port on the side of the unit. The battery indicator lights will show the charging status.

4.2 Mounting a Camera (DSLR/Mirrorless)

  1. Ensure the quick release plate is detached from the pan tilt head.
  2. Screw your camera onto the 1/4" screw on the quick release plate. Tighten securely.
  3. Slide the quick release plate with the camera into the slot on the pan tilt head until it clicks into place. Tighten the locking knob to secure the camera.

4.3 Mounting a Phone

  1. Attach the universal phone holder to the quick release plate using the 1/4" screw.
  2. Securely mount your phone into the phone holder. The holder is adjustable to fit phones from 4.5 to 7 inches.
  3. Slide the quick release plate with the phone holder into the slot on the pan tilt head and tighten the locking knob.
  4. The phone holder allows for both horizontal and vertical phone orientation.

4.4 Mounting on a Tripod

The YT-1000 features a 1/4" screw hole at its base, allowing it to be mounted on most standard tripods or light stands.

  1. Screw the base of the YT-1000 onto the 1/4" screw of your tripod.
  2. Ensure it is tightened securely to prevent wobbling.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the power button () on the YT-1000 unit to turn it on or off. The digital display will illuminate when powered on.

5.2 Remote Control Operation

The YT-1000 is controlled wirelessly via the provided 2.4G remote. Ensure the remote has batteries installed.

  • Channel Selection: Use the 'CH' button on the pan tilt unit and the remote to select a channel (00-19). Ensure both devices are on the same channel for proper communication.
  • Movement: Use the directional arrow buttons on the remote to control pan (left/right) and tilt (up/down) movements.
  • Speed Adjustment: Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the pan tilt unit or the remote to adjust the movement speed. There are 8 available speeds.

5.3 Leveling the Device

Use the built-in spirit level to ensure your camera or phone is perfectly level before starting your shot or recording.

5.4 Movement Capabilities

  • Pan: The head can rotate horizontally 360 degrees without limitation.
  • Tilt: The head can tilt vertically 35 degrees upwards and 35 degrees downwards.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the pan tilt head and remote control. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use, to maintain battery health.
  • Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the maximum payload of 1kg to prevent damage to the motor and gears.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Device does not power on. Low battery or power button not pressed correctly. Charge the device using the Type-C port. Press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
Remote control not responding. Incorrect channel, remote batteries low, or out of range. Ensure the pan tilt unit and remote are on the same channel (00-19). Replace remote batteries. Move closer to the device (within 20m).
Movement is jerky or inconsistent. Overloaded, low battery, or obstruction. Reduce the payload (ensure it's under 1kg). Charge the device. Check for any physical obstructions.
Device is not level. Tripod or mounting surface is uneven. Adjust the tripod legs or mounting surface until the built-in spirit level indicates a level position.
