Image: Diagram showing the four main assembly steps.

  1. Attach the Vertical Frame to the Base: Secure the gantry (vertical frame) to the frame base using the provided screws and tools. Ensure it is firmly seated and aligned.
  2. Connect the Control Box: Place the control box next to the printer base and connect the necessary cables (power, motor, end-stop switches) as indicated in the wiring diagram (refer to the full manual for detailed diagrams).
  3. Install the Filament Holder: Mount the filament spool holder onto the designated position on the printer frame.
  4. Complete Wiring: Connect all remaining cables, including the hot-end, heated bed, and touchscreen cables, ensuring all connections are secure. Double-check all wiring against the provided diagram to prevent damage.

Once assembled, ensure the printer is placed on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight or drafts.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On and Initial Setup

  1. Connect the power cable to the printer and a suitable power outlet.
  2. Turn on the power switch, usually located on the control box.
  3. The 2.8-inch color touchscreen will illuminate.

4.2 Touchscreen Interface

The LK1 features a responsive color touchscreen for easy navigation and control. The interface allows you to preview models, adjust settings, and initiate prints.

One of the key functions accessible via the touchscreen is bed leveling. Navigate to the 'Leveling' menu to manually adjust the bed at various points (Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Right) for optimal print adhesion.

4.3 Filament Loading

  1. Place your filament spool onto the filament holder.
  2. Preheat the nozzle to the recommended temperature for your filament type (e.g., 200-210°C for PLA).
  3. Insert the filament into the extruder's input hole and push it through until it exits the nozzle.
  4. Confirm smooth extrusion.

4.4 Starting a Print

  1. Prepare your 3D model using slicing software (e.g., Cura, Repetier-Host) and save it as a G-code file onto the provided TF card.
  2. Insert the TF card into the printer's card slot.
  3. On the touchscreen, navigate to the 'Print' menu and select your desired G-code file.
  4. Confirm the print settings and start the print.

4.5 Resume Printing and Filament Detection

  • Resume Printing: In case of a power outage, the printer will automatically save the print progress. Once power is restored, you can resume the print from where it left off via the touchscreen menu.
  • Filament Detector: The printer is equipped with a filament sensor. If the filament runs out or breaks during a print, the printer will automatically pause, allowing you to load new filament and resume the print without losing progress.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your 3D printer.

  • Clean the Build Plate: After each print, allow the tempered glass plate to cool and carefully remove the print. Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue and ensure good adhesion for the next print.
  • Clean the Nozzle: Periodically clean the nozzle to prevent clogs. You can use a small brass brush or the provided needle to clear any blockages.
  • Check Belts and Pulleys: Ensure that the timing belts are properly tensioned and that the pulleys are free of debris. Loose belts can lead to layer shifting.
  • Lubricate Moving Parts: Apply a small amount of lithium grease or similar lubricant to the smooth rods and lead screws every few months to ensure smooth movement of the print head and build plate.
  • Inspect Wiring: Regularly check all electrical connections for any signs of wear or looseness.

6. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Print not sticking to bedBed not level, incorrect bed temperature, dirty bed, nozzle too far from bedRe-level the print bed, adjust bed temperature, clean the bed with isopropyl alcohol, adjust Z-offset.
Filament not extrudingNozzle clogged, incorrect temperature, tangled filament, extruder gear slipClear nozzle clog, increase nozzle temperature, untangle filament, clean extruder gear.
Layer shiftingLoose belts, print speed too high, motor overheatingCheck and tighten belts, reduce print speed, ensure proper cooling for motors.
Poor print quality (stringing, blobs)Incorrect retraction settings, excessive temperature, wet filamentAdjust retraction distance and speed in slicer, lower print temperature, dry filament.

8. User Tips

  • Bed Adhesion: For best first layer adhesion, ensure your bed is perfectly level and clean. Using a thin layer of glue stick or hairspray on the tempered glass plate can also help, especially with certain filament types.
  • Filament Storage: Store your filament in a dry, cool place. Humidity can degrade filament quality, leading to poor print results like stringing or brittle prints.
  • Slicer Settings: Experiment with different slicing software settings (e.g., print speed, temperature, retraction) to optimize print quality for various filaments and models. Start with recommended settings and make small adjustments.
  • First Layer Calibration: Pay close attention to the first layer. It is crucial for the success of the entire print. The filament should be slightly squished onto the bed, not floating above it or scraped too thin.

9. Warranty and Support
