Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your EKIY M3C-Bracket Portable Motorcycle GPS Navigation System. This device features an Android 14 operating system, a 5-inch IPX67 waterproof display, and supports Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto for enhanced connectivity and navigation on your motorcycle.

Setup Guide

1. Mounting the Device

The EKIY M3C-Bracket comes with an aluminum alloy bracket designed for universal motorcycle fitment. The bracket includes silicone shock absorbers to reduce screen blur caused by vibrations during riding.

2. Power Connection

Connect the provided power cable to your motorcycle's 12-volt power supply. Ensure a secure connection to prevent power interruptions.

3. Attaching and Detaching the Screen

The device features a quick-release screen design with an 18-pin header power supply for stable connection and reduced wear. It supports 12-volt power supply startup.

To attach the screen, align the 18-pin connector on the back of the display with the bracket and slide it into place until it clicks securely. To detach, unfasten the buckle and press the device to pop up the screen. Hold the screen with your hand to prevent it from falling when loosening the screws.

Operating Instructions

1. Main Interface Navigation

Upon startup, the device will display the main interface. Here are the key elements:

  1. History APP list: Open to view running apps and slide up to clear background apps.
  2. Return to main interface: Navigate back to the home screen.
  3. Quick Settings:
    • Short press: Access status bar, adjust brightness, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, flight mode, hotspot switch, and power off options (power off, restart).
    • Long press: Enter system settings for advanced functions.
  4. Return to previous level: Go back to the previous screen or menu.
  5. Play video, music, and pictures: Access multimedia playback.
  6. Map function: Enter the navigation map.
  7. Connect to CarPlay or Android Auto: Initiate smartphone integration.
  8. BT related functions: Access Bluetooth settings and connections.

2. Application Page

The application page provides access to various pre-installed and downloadable apps:

  • Chrome: Google browser for web browsing.
  • Settings: Access system settings.
  • Google Store: Register and log in to a Google account to download apps.
  • Maps: Enter the map function for navigation.
  • YouTube: Open YouTube for videos and music.
  • Spotify: Enter the music player.
  • Files: File manager for copying, pasting, and deleting files.
  • ZLINK: Open the CarPlay/Android Auto connection interface.
  • Audio Out: Bluetooth control interface.
  • NativePlayer: Play video, music, and picture files.
  • GPS Test Plus: Display positioning information.
  • Netflix: Open Netflix for streaming videos and music.

3. Wireless CarPlay Connectivity

To connect your iPhone via Wireless CarPlay:

  1. Click the CarPlay icon on the application page.
  2. Ensure your iPhone's WLAN is turned ON.
  3. On your iPhone, go to Bluetooth settings, search for the device named "MOTO50_SH500SL-xxxx", pair it, and allow the sync.
  4. Finally, click "Use CarPlay" on your iPhone.

After a successful connection, the CarPlay interface will appear, allowing you to use phone calls, navigation, music, and other compatible apps.

4. Wireless Android Auto Connectivity

To connect your Android phone via Wireless Android Auto:

  1. Click the Android Auto icon on the application page.
  2. Ensure your Android phone's Wi-Fi is turned ON.
  3. On your Android phone, go to Bluetooth settings, search for the device named "MOTO50_SH500SL-xxxx", pair it, and allow the sync.
  4. Follow any on-screen prompts on your phone to complete the Android Auto setup.

After a successful connection, the Android Auto interface will appear, allowing you to use phone calls, navigation, music, and other compatible apps.

5. Audio Output (BT Audio)

Click "Audio Out" on the application page or "BT related functions" from the main interface to enter the Bluetooth audio settings.

In this mode, after connecting via Bluetooth, all audio sources from the device can be heard normally on your motorcycle's stereo system. You can also use your phone's Bluetooth to connect your Bluetooth headset for direct audio.

Note: This feature does not work if you are actively using CarPlay or Android Auto.

6. NativePlayer

The NativePlayer supports various multimedia formats:

  • Video: Supports MP4, MOV, 3GP, MKV, FLV, WMV. Does not support 2K and 4K resolution videos, VOB, RMVB, MPG.
  • Music: Supports MP3, OGG, AAC, FLAC, WAV. Does not support WMA, APE.
  • Image: Supports JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG.

When music is playing and the device is turned off, the music will automatically resume playback when you turn it on next time.

7. GPS Test Plus

Use "GPS Test Plus" to view global navigation satellite information, including latitude, longitude, and signal strength.

8. Google Play Store

Access the Google Play Store to download and install a wide variety of applications. You will need to register and log in with a Google account.

9. File Management

The "Files" application allows you to manage local files, including copying, pasting, and deleting. You can browse images, audio, videos, and documents.

10. SD Card Installation

If you cannot find a specific app on Google Play, you can download its installation package (APK file) to an SD card, insert the SD card into the device's TF slot, and install the application directly from the "SD card" section in the Files app.

11. System Settings

Access the "Settings" application to configure various system parameters:

  • Network and Internet: Configure Wi-Fi, hotspot, and mobile data settings.
  • Connected devices: Manage Bluetooth pairings.
  • Apps: View, uninstall, or manage applications.
  • Storage: Monitor storage usage and manage files.
  • System: Access Language & input, Date & time, Backup, and Reset options.

Device information such as system upgrade status, device name, IP address, WLAN MAC address, model, Android version, firmware version, kernel version, and processor type can be found under "About the device" within the System settings.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and device body. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Waterproofing: The device is IPX67 waterproof. While it can withstand rain and splashes, avoid prolonged submersion in water. Ensure all ports are properly sealed when exposed to moisture.
  • Temperature: Operate the device within the specified temperature range of -20°C to +70°C. Extreme temperatures can affect performance and battery life.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

Device not powering on:
Ensure the power cable is securely connected to a 12-volt power source. Check for any loose connections or blown fuses in your motorcycle's electrical system.
Cannot connect to CarPlay/Android Auto:
  • Verify that both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your smartphone and the navigation unit.
  • Ensure you have selected the correct device name ("MOTO50_SH500SL-xxxx") during Bluetooth pairing.
  • Confirm that you have granted all necessary permissions on your smartphone during the pairing process.
  • Try restarting both your smartphone and the navigation unit.
No audio output:
  • Check the volume levels on both the navigation unit and your motorcycle's stereo/Bluetooth headset.
  • If using CarPlay/Android Auto, ensure the audio output is correctly routed.
  • If using BT Audio, ensure you are not simultaneously running CarPlay or Android Auto, as this feature is incompatible.
Screen is blurry or vibrating:
Ensure the mounting bracket is securely fastened and the silicone shock absorbers are correctly installed to minimize vibrations.

User Tips

  • For optimal performance, keep the device's software updated through the system settings.
  • Utilize the Google Play Store to expand the functionality of your device with additional navigation, music, and utility apps.
  • When detaching the screen, always hold it firmly after unfastening the buckle to prevent accidental drops.
  • Consider using a high-quality TF card (up to 128GB) for additional storage of maps, music, and videos.
