5. Setup
5.1 Physical Installation
The BRT VIDM2 is designed for embedded installation. Ensure your panel has a cut-out size of 76x40mm (Length x Width) and a panel thickness between 1mm and 10mm.
5.2 Wiring Instructions
Refer to the wiring diagram below for proper connection of the power supply and input signals. Always ensure the power supply is disconnected before wiring.

Figure 3: Wiring Diagram and Dimensions
Terminal Connections:
- GND: Ground for power supply.
- V+: Positive terminal for 5-24VDC power supply.
- AI: Analog Input (for current or voltage signal).
- G: Ground for analog input signal.
Important Wiring Warnings:
- Please remove/disconnect the operating power supply first, then connect the input wire.
- Power supply input GND and signal input GND are in common ground; only connect either one of the GND terminals.
- If the input signal GND terminal and the GND terminal from the device connected are NOT in common ground, the user must connect an isolated independent operating power supply to the BRT VIDM2 display indicator to avoid interference.
6. Operating Instructions
The BRT VIDM2 allows for customization of its display parameters using two keys located on the backside of the meter: the [SET KEY] and the [UP KEY].
6.1 Parameter Setting Procedure
- Long press [SET KEY] for 2 seconds to enter the setting status.
- Press [SET KEY] once to switch between parameters codes.
- Press [UP KEY] once to enter the parameter value setting.
- Short press [UP KEY] once, the parameter value increases by 1; keep pressing [UP KEY] to rapidly increase the parameter value.
- After setting parameters completely, press [SET KEY] once to save the setting and return to the parameters code status.

7. User Tips
- For initial setup or if the display seems incorrect, carefully review the "Parameters Setting Instructions" and the "Parameters Code Table" in Section 6. This is crucial for configuring the meter to accurately display your specific input signal (e.g., 4-20mA, 0-10V) and desired scaling.
- When performing zero calibration (F006), ensure the input signal is completely disconnected or short-circuited as specified to achieve an accurate zero reference.
- If experiencing unexpected readings, double-check all wiring connections, especially the common ground connections, as highlighted in the safety warnings.
8. Maintenance
The BRT VIDM2 is designed for low maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity ranges to prolong the device's lifespan.
9. Troubleshooting
- No Display: Check the power supply connections (5-24VDC) and ensure the voltage is within the specified range. Verify polarity.
- Incorrect Reading: Review the parameter settings (Section 6) to ensure they match your input signal type and desired display scaling. Check the input signal wiring for correct connections and ensure the signal source is functioning properly.
- Fluctuating Display: This could indicate electrical interference. Ensure proper grounding and consider using an isolated power supply if the input signal's ground is not common with the meter's power supply ground.
- Display Stuck: Disconnect power, wait a few seconds, and reconnect. If the issue persists, recheck wiring and parameter settings.
10. Warranty and Support
