7. Troubleshooting
- No Video Feed: Ensure the camera is properly powered (DC 12V or PoE) and the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the camera and the NVR/router. Verify network connectivity.
- Poor Image Quality: Clean the camera lens. Check for obstructions in the camera's field of view. Ensure sufficient lighting, especially at night.
- Motion Alerts Not Working: Verify that motion detection is enabled in the ANNKE App and that detection areas are properly configured. Check app notification settings on your device.
- No Audio: Ensure the built-in microphone is enabled in the camera settings via the ANNKE App or NVR interface.
- Camera Not Connecting to Network: Double-check all wired connections. Ensure your NVR or router is functioning correctly. Remember, this camera does not support Wi-Fi.
8. User Tips
- Wired Connection is Key: Always remember that the ANNKE C500 is an IP/network wired camera. It does not support Wi-Fi, so a stable Ethernet connection is crucial for reliable performance.
- PoE Simplifies Installation: Utilize Power over Ethernet (PoE) if possible. It significantly reduces cable clutter by delivering both power and data through a single Ethernet cable.
- Maximize Storage with H.265+: Take advantage of the H.265+ video compression to store more footage on your TF card or NAS. A 256GB TF card can store up to 18 days of H.265+ footage.
- Pair with Recommended NVRs: For optimal compatibility and performance, it is recommended to use this camera with ANNKE NVR models N98PBL and N98PBK.
- Utilize Smart Motion Detection: Configure specific detection zones in the app to receive more accurate alerts and reduce false alarms, focusing on areas that matter most.
