1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your GOBOOST 4G Signal Amplifier, Model GB23-LTE-B28. This device is designed to enhance 700MHz (Band 28) mobile cellular signals, providing better voice quality and faster data speeds in areas with weak signal coverage.

Important Attention: This equipment kit is specifically designed to enhance the 700MHz (Band 28) signal. Before purchasing and installing, please ensure that your current SIM card operates on this frequency. Additionally, confirm that the outdoor installation location has a detectable Band 28 (700MHz) signal, ideally with at least 3 signal levels or more. The device may not function correctly if the frequency is mismatched or if the outdoor signal source is too weak.

4. Setup and Installation

The GOBOOST signal amplifier system works by capturing weak outdoor signals, amplifying them, and then rebroadcasting them indoors. Follow these steps for optimal performance:

4.1 Installation Steps Overview

  1. Find a suitable location for the Outdoor Antenna: This antenna should be installed in a position where it can receive the strongest possible signal from the nearest cell tower.
  2. Connect the Outdoor Antenna to the Signal Booster: Use the provided coaxial cable to connect the outdoor antenna to the 'Outdoor Port' (F-Female Connector) on the signal booster.
  3. Connect the Indoor Antenna to the Signal Booster: Connect the indoor antenna to the 'Indoor Port' (SMA-Female Connector) on the signal booster.
  4. Connect the Power Adapter: Plug the power adapter into the signal booster and then into a power outlet.

4.2 Detailed Installation Guidelines

Detailed installation steps with images: Step 1 finding outdoor antenna position, Step 2 connecting outdoor antenna, Step 3 connecting indoor antenna, Step 4 connecting power.
Figure 4.3: Visual Installation Steps
  1. Step 1: Find a position for the outdoor antenna.
Install the outdoor antenna in a location with the strongest possible signal. Use your mobile phone to check the signal strength in various outdoor spots. The higher the signal bars, the better. Ensure the outdoor antenna is pointed towards the nearest cell tower.
  2. Step 2: Connect the outdoor antenna to the booster.
Securely connect the coaxial cable from the outdoor antenna to the 'Outdoor Port' (F-Female Connector) on the signal booster.
  3. Step 3: Connect the indoor antenna to the booster.
Connect the indoor antenna to the 'Indoor Port' (SMA-Female Connector) on the signal booster. Position the indoor antenna where you need signal coverage, ensuring it is as far as possible from the outdoor antenna and ideally separated by a wall or ceiling.
  4. Step 4: Connect the power plug.
Plug the power adapter into the signal booster's power input and then into a wall outlet. The booster will power on, and the LCD display should activate.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed and powered on, the GOBOOST signal amplifier will automatically begin to boost the signal. The LCD display provides real-time information about its operational status.

Figure 5.1: Signal Booster LED Display and Ports

The LCD display clearly shows the work status, including:

  • Signal Strength Indicators: Bars indicating the strength of the received signal. More bars mean a stronger signal.
  • GAIN: Displays the amplification gain, typically 70dB for this model.
  • OUTPUT: Shows the output power, typically 23dBm for this model.

Monitor the display to ensure the booster is receiving and amplifying the signal effectively. If the signal strength indicators are low or absent, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

6. Maintenance

The GOBOOST signal amplifier is designed for low maintenance. Follow these general guidelines:

  • Keep the signal booster clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating. The aluminum alloy shell is designed for heat dissipation.
  • Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Regularly check all cable connections to ensure they are secure.

7. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your signal amplifier, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

7.1 No Signal Receipt After Activation

  • Check Outdoor Antenna Alignment: Ensure the outdoor antenna is correctly pointed towards the nearest cell tower. Slight adjustments can significantly improve signal reception.
  • Verify Outdoor Signal Strength: Confirm that the outdoor location where the antenna is installed has a strong enough signal (at least 3 bars on your mobile phone). If the outdoor signal is too weak, the booster has little to amplify.
  • Frequency Match: Double-check that your mobile carrier's signal frequency matches the Band 28 (700MHz) supported by this booster.

7.2 Unstable Signal Strength

  • Antenna Separation: Ensure there is sufficient physical separation between the outdoor and indoor antennas. They should be as far apart as possible, ideally with a wall or ceiling between them, and not in the same horizontal line. Insufficient separation can cause oscillation, leading to unstable signal or no boost.
  • Cable Connections: Check all coaxial cable connections to ensure they are tight and secure. Loose connections can degrade signal quality.

8. User Tips

  • Optimal Antenna Placement: Experiment with the exact placement and orientation of your outdoor antenna. Even small adjustments can lead to significant improvements in signal capture.
  • Maximize Separation: Always strive for maximum physical separation between the outdoor and indoor antennas. This is the most critical factor in preventing feedback and ensuring efficient boosting.
  • Check Signal Before Installation: Before committing to a permanent installation, use a mobile app or your phone's field test mode to verify the exact frequency and strength of the signal at your chosen outdoor antenna location.

9. Warranty and Support

For warranty information, technical support, or service inquiries, please refer to the documentation provided at the time of purchase or contact your seller directly. Keep your purchase receipt as proof of purchase.
