3. Safety Instructions
- Always perform two-point calibration before using the gauge to ensure measurement accuracy.
- During power-on, the gauge performs an initialization self-test. Do not place the sensor near any metal object during this process to avoid errors.
- Keep the sensor clean and in good condition to prevent dust, oil, or other factors from affecting accuracy.
- Avoid using or storing the gauge in high temperatures, high humidity, flammable, explosive, or strong magnetic field environments.
- Clean the gauge casing with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents.
- Do not disassemble or modify the gauge.
- Replace batteries promptly when the low battery symbol appears. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for a long time.
- Preserve standard coating thickness sheets and metal substrates carefully to prevent damage, as they are crucial for gauge accuracy.
- If errors occur, restore factory settings and perform two-point calibration.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Battery Replacement
- Turn the locking screw on the battery compartment counterclockwise, open the battery cover, and install 2 AA batteries according to the indicated direction.
- Install the battery cover and turn the locking screw clockwise.
- The battery level is indicated by the battery symbol at the top right of the screen.
4.2. Power On/Off
- Power On: Long press the power button until the screen turns on. If the buzzer is enabled, a power-on prompt tone will sound.
- Power Off: Long press the power button until the screen turns off. If the buzzer is enabled, a power-off prompt tone will sound.
4.3. Normal Measurement
- Long press the power button to turn on the gauge. It will display the initialization process and then enter normal measurement mode.
- Estimate the coating thickness of the measured object and select a corresponding or close standard coating thickness sheet for two-point calibration on the measurement substrate.
- Select a substrate with a thickness or material similar to the measured object and without coating for calibration.
- Perform two-point calibration (refer to the Calibration section below).
- After calibration, perform coating thickness measurement on the object.
- For accurate results, measure at 3 to 5 points evenly on the surface, taking 5 readings at each point and averaging them.
- The average of these point averages provides the reference value for the coating thickness.
4.4. Calibration
To ensure accurate measurements, calibration is essential. Long press the CAL button in normal measurement mode to enter the selected calibration mode.
4.4.1. Zero Calibration
- Place the gauge vertically on an uncoated metal substrate.
- Lift the gauge after 2 seconds. The display will show '0.0' and the gauge will automatically exit to normal measurement mode.
- Zero calibration is now complete.
4.4.2. Two-Point Calibration
- Place the gauge on an uncoated metal substrate with a standard coating thickness sheet (e.g., 102µm) stacked on top.
- Lift the gauge after 2 seconds. The measured value will be displayed.
- Use the up/down buttons to adjust the displayed value to match the actual thickness of the standard coating thickness sheet.
- The gauge is now calibrated.

4.5. Quick Judgment Mode
This mode is ideal for quickly assessing coating thickness on automobiles and other industrial products.
4.5.1. Single-Point Judgment Mode
- Long press the OK/MENU button in normal measurement mode, then select 'One Decision' using the up/down buttons and press OK.
- Set the target thickness value and tolerance using the up/down buttons and press OK to confirm.
- Measure the coating thickness of the object. The screen will display the measured value and a 'PASS' or 'FAIL' judgment.
- Press the Undo/Delete button to return or long press OK/MENU to exit.

4.5.2. Multi-Point Judgment Mode (5-Point)
- Long press the OK/MENU button in normal measurement mode, then select 'Multi Decision' using the up/down buttons and press OK.
- Set the target thickness value and tolerance using the up/down buttons and press OK to confirm.
- Measure the coating thickness at 5 different points (A, B, C, D, E) on the body, taking 3 readings at each point and averaging them.
- The screen will display the average value of the 5 points and a 'PASS' or 'FAIL' judgment.

4.6. Menu Settings
Short press the OK/MENU button in normal measurement mode to access the menu settings.
