5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the multimeter.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert one 1.5V AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Connecting Test Leads

The multimeter comes with a detachable test lead. To use it for measurements requiring two probes:

  1. Insert the black test lead into the designated port at the bottom of the multimeter.
  2. The red probe is integrated into the pen tip.
  3. Ensure the test lead is firmly connected before taking any measurements.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

6.2 Auto Mode

Upon powering on, the multimeter defaults to 'Auto' mode. In this mode, it automatically identifies and measures:

Simply touch the probes to the circuit or component, and the device will display the appropriate measurement. The display will indicate 'DC' for direct current or 'AC' for alternating current.

6.3 Manual Mode (Function Selection)

Press the red 'Select' button briefly to cycle through different manual measurement functions. The available functions include:

6.4 Voltage Measurement

In 'Auto' mode or selected Voltage mode, touch the red probe to the positive point and the black probe to the negative point of the circuit. The display will show the voltage reading and indicate 'DC' or 'AC'.

6.5 Live/Neutral Wire Detection (N/LP Button)

Press the 'N/LP' button to activate the Live/Neutral detection function. This can be used in two ways:

6.6 Phase Sequence Detection (MT007 Pro/Pro-EN only)

In manual mode, press 'Select' until 'PABC' appears on the display. This mode is used to determine the phase sequence in three-phase electrical systems.

6.7 Diode Test

In Diode Test mode, connect the probes across the diode. The display will show the forward voltage drop. If the diode is faulty or connected in reverse, it will show 'OL' (Overload) or a different reading.

6.8 Continuity Test

In Continuity Test mode, connect the probes to the two points you want to test. If there is continuity (a complete circuit), the buzzer will sound, and the display will show a low resistance value. If there is no continuity, it will show 'OL'.

6.9 Flashlight

Long press the 'N/LP' button to turn the built-in flashlight on or off. This is useful for illuminating dark work areas.

6.10 Data Hold

Press the 'Hold' button briefly to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release the hold function.

6.11 Voice Broadcast (MT007 Pro-EN only)

The MT007 Pro-EN model features voice broadcast for readings. To disable or enable this feature, press and hold the 'N/LP' button while turning on the device. The broadcast language is English only.
