4. Setup

  1. Placement: Place the power supply on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Ensure no objects block the side or rear ventilation grilles.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cable to the power input socket on the rear panel of the unit and then to a suitable AC power outlet (220V 50Hz or 110V 60Hz, depending on your model).
  3. Test Lead Connection: Connect the test leads to the output terminals on the front panel. The red lead connects to the positive (+) terminal, and the black lead connects to the negative (-) terminal. The yellow terminal is typically for ground/common.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

  1. Power On: Flip the main power switch located on the front panel to the 'ON' position. The digital display will illuminate.
  2. Adjusting Voltage:
    • Press the VOLTAGE button. The voltage display will become active for adjustment.
    • Use the + and - buttons under 'Setting' to increase or decrease the desired output voltage.
  3. Adjusting Current Limit:
    • Press the CURRENT button. The current display will become active for adjustment.
    • Use the + and - buttons under 'Setting' to set the maximum current limit.
  4. Enable Output: Once voltage and current limits are set, press the OUTPUT OFF/ON button. The button will light up green, indicating that power is being supplied to the output terminals.
  5. Disable Output: Press the OUTPUT OFF/ON button again to turn off the power output. The green light will extinguish.

5.2 Memory Functions

The unit allows you to store and recall up to three sets of voltage and current settings.

  • To Save Settings: Set your desired voltage and current. Press and hold one of the MEMORY (1, 2, or 3) buttons until it lights up, indicating the settings have been saved.
  • To Recall Settings: Briefly press one of the MEMORY (1, 2, or 3) buttons. The stored settings will be loaded onto the display.

5.3 Protection Features

  • OCP (Over Current Protection): Press the OCP button to activate this feature. If the output current exceeds the set limit, the power supply will cut off output to protect the connected device. The OCP indicator on the display will light up.
  • OVP (Over Voltage Protection): This unit includes Over Voltage Protection. If the output voltage exceeds a safe threshold, the unit will automatically shut down to prevent damage.

5.4 Special Functions

  • RF Signal Detection: Press the RF button to activate the RF signal detection mode. This feature can be used to detect radio frequency signals, for example, from a mobile phone. The display will show a signal strength indicator.
  • Sound Control: Press the SOUND button to toggle the audible feedback for button presses.
  • Lock Function: Press the LOCK button to disable most control buttons, preventing accidental changes to settings during operation. The lock indicator will appear on the display. Press again to unlock.
  • Constant Voltage/Current Presets: Use the 4.2V 2A Constant or 19V 5A Constant buttons for quick selection of these common fixed output settings. Note that these are fixed values and cannot be adjusted directly when selected.
