3.3 Initial Network Configuration
After connecting the cables, configure your network settings:
- Connect to Router's Wi-Fi: On your mobile phone or computer, connect to the router's default Wi-Fi network. The default Wi-Fi name (SSID) is usually printed on the bottom of the router and does not require a password initially.
- Access Configuration Page: Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge) on your connected device. The browser should automatically redirect you to the configuration page. If not, manually type
192.168.3.1into the address bar and press Enter. - Enter Broadband Details: Follow the on-screen prompts to enter your broadband account and password. If you do not know these details, contact your internet service provider. If your network requires VLAN configuration, consult your broadband carrier for details.
- Set New Wi-Fi and Admin Passwords: Create a new Wi-Fi name (SSID), a strong Wi-Fi password, and a separate administrator password for the router.
- Enable 5 GHz Priority (Optional): It is recommended to enable the 'Prioritize 5 GHz' option. This feature ensures that devices capable of 5 GHz Wi-Fi will connect to that band when signal strength is comparable, providing faster speeds.
3.4 HUAWEI AI Life App Setup
For easier management and advanced features, use the HUAWEI AI Life App:
- Download App: Download the HUAWEI AI Life App from your device's app store.
- Connect and Manage: Connect your phone to the router's Wi-Fi network, then open the app. You can now manage your router, including parental controls, guest Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi timers.

4. Operating the Router
4.1 Understanding Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6 Plus
The AX3 Pro leverages Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Huawei's proprietary Wi-Fi 6 Plus technology for superior performance:
- 3X Faster Speed: Achieved through 1024-QAM and 160 MHz bandwidth, boosting overall Wi-Fi speed.
- 4X Larger Capacity: OFDMA technology allows the router to connect more devices simultaneously with minimal slowdown.
- 2/3 Lowered Latency: Enjoy faster response times, especially when multiple devices are active.
- 30% Reduced Power Consumption: Devices negotiate wake-up times, reducing power usage during standby.
- HUAWEI Wi-Fi 6 Plus: When paired with Wi-Fi 6-enabled HUAWEI phones, Chipset Synergy and Dynamic Narrow Bandwidth technology provide stronger signals (up to 6dB stronger) and better penetration through walls.

4.2 Mesh Networking
Expand your Wi-Fi coverage by creating a mesh network with other HUAWEI routers:
- The AX3 Pro supports wireless, network cable, and hybrid networking.
- Multiple routers are automatically grouped under one Wi-Fi name.
- The system intelligently selects the optimal Wi-Fi signal based on your device's location.
- You can network with older HUAWEI Wi-Fi routers (those with an 'H' button) to extend coverage.
To set up mesh networking:
- Place the add-on HUAWEI router (with 'H' button) within one meter of the HUAWEI WiFi AX3.
- Power on the add-on router and wait for its indicator to turn steady green or blue.
- Press the 'H' button on the HUAWEI WiFi AX3. Its indicator will flash.
- Within two minutes, press the 'H' button on the add-on router.
- The indicator on the add-on router will turn steady green or blue after connecting, indicating successful mesh pairing.

4.3 Security Features
The AX3 Pro incorporates advanced security measures to protect your network and data:
- Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and Microkernel: Provides a secure area within the main processor, utilizing both software and hardware to safeguard data.
- CC EAL5 Certified: Ensures the router can operate safely in commercial environments, offering robust security assurance.
- Firewall, QoS, VPN: Built-in functions for network protection, traffic management, and secure remote access.
5. Maintenance
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware updates through the HUAWEI AI Life App or the router's web interface to ensure optimal performance, security, and access to new features.
- Optimal Placement: For the best Wi-Fi signal, place the router in a central, open location, away from obstructions and other electronic devices that may cause interference. Keep antennas upright.
- Cleaning: Keep the router clean and free of dust. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Restarting: If you experience slow speeds or intermittent connectivity, try restarting the router by unplugging it from the power outlet for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
6. Troubleshooting
