1. Introduction

The TUXING TXET061 is a compact and portable high-pressure air compressor designed for filling PCP air rifles, paintball tanks, and mini diving tanks. It features a powerful 300W motor, capable of reaching 4500 PSI (300 Bar), and offers both manual and automatic shutdown options. Its oil-free and fan-cooled design ensures clean operation and extended lifespan. This manual provides essential information for safe and efficient use of your compressor.

2. Safety Information

  • Always operate the compressor in a well-ventilated area to prevent heat buildup.
  • Ensure all connections are secure before operation to prevent leaks and potential injury from high-pressure air.
  • Do not exceed the maximum rated pressure of 4500 PSI (300 Bar) for your equipment or the compressor.
  • Monitor the temperature gauge; do not allow the compressor to exceed 85°C. If the temperature rises too high, stop operation immediately and allow it to cool down.
  • Never leave the compressor unattended during operation.
  • Keep children and pets away from the operating compressor.

5. Setup

5.1 Power Connection

The TXET061 compressor can be powered by either an AC wall outlet or a 12V DC car battery.

  1. For AC (Home) Power:
Connect the provided power transformer to the compressor. Then, use the home power line to plug the transformer into a standard 110V/220V AC wall outlet.

5.2 Air Hose Connection

  1. Attach the air outlet hose to the compressor's 8mm male connector. Ensure it is securely tightened.
  2. If desired, connect the oil/water separator inline with the air hose. This helps ensure cleaner, drier air.
  3. Connect the other end of the air hose to the fill nipple of your PCP air gun or tank. Ensure this connection is also secure.

5.3 Drain Valve

Locate the drain valve at the bottom of the compressor. Ensure it is closed before starting operation.

6. Operation

6.1 Pre-Operation Check

  • Double-check all power and air hose connections for tightness.
  • Ensure the drain valve at the bottom of the compressor is fully closed.
  • Place the compressor on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area.

6.2 Setting Pressure (for 'Set Pressure Version')

If you have the 'Set Pressure Version', you can preset the desired shut-off pressure:

  1. Locate the adjustable pressure gauge on the compressor.
  2. Turn the knob on the pressure gauge to set your target pressure. The compressor will automatically stop once this pressure is reached.

6.3 Starting the Compressor

  1. Press the 'Power' button to turn on the compressor. The digital display will show the current voltage.
  2. Press the 'Fan' button to activate the cooling fan. The fan must run during operation to prevent overheating.

6.4 Monitoring

  • Continuously monitor the pressure gauge to track the filling progress.
  • Keep an eye on the digital temperature display. If the temperature approaches 85°C, stop the compressor immediately and allow it to cool down before resuming.

6.5 Stopping the Compressor

  1. The compressor will either stop automatically if the preset pressure is reached (for 'Set Pressure Version') or you can manually press the 'Power' button to turn it off.
  2. After stopping, slowly open the air release valve (bleed valve) to depressurize the system. This is crucial before disconnecting the hose.
  3. Once the system is depressurized, open the drain valve at the bottom of the compressor to release any accumulated moisture.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Oil-Free Design

The TXET061 compressor is designed for oil-free operation, which simplifies maintenance and ensures clean air output. No internal oil changes are required for the compressor mechanism itself.

7.2 Oil/Water Separator

The included oil/water separator helps to ensure the high-pressure air is pure and dry. Regularly check and replace the filter cotton within the separator to maintain its effectiveness. The repair kit includes spare filter cotton.

7.3 Drainage

After each use, always open the drain valve at the bottom of the compressor to release any accumulated moisture. This prevents internal corrosion and extends the unit's lifespan.

7.4 Cleaning

Keep the exterior of the compressor clean and free from dust and debris. This ensures proper airflow through the cooling fan and vents, preventing overheating.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Compressor Not Starting:
Check all power connections (AC or DC). Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position. Verify that the power source is providing adequate voltage (110V/220V AC or 12V DC).
  • Slow Inflation/Low Pressure:
Inspect all air hose connections for leaks. Ensure the drain valve is fully closed. Check the oil/water separator filter for clogging and replace if necessary.
  • Overheating:
Ensure the cooling fan is operating correctly and is not obstructed. Operate the compressor in a well-ventilated area. Allow sufficient cool-down periods between long inflation cycles, especially when filling larger tanks or reaching higher pressures.
  • Piston Issues:
If experiencing unusual noises or reduced performance, it may indicate an issue with the piston. While the compressor is generally oil-free, some internal components may benefit from specific lubrication. If issues persist, consult the manufacturer or a qualified technician. Avoid unauthorized modifications.

9. User Tips

  • Piston Rod Lubrication: Although the compressor is oil-free, some users have found that applying a few drops of silicone grease to the piston rod (near the fan) can help maintain smoother operation and extend the life of the piston. Do not use petroleum-based lubricants.
  • Tank Size Considerations: This compressor is highly efficient for smaller tanks (e.g., 0.3L, 0.5L). Filling very large tanks (e.g., 7000cc) may take a considerable amount of time and could potentially put more strain on the unit. Consider the compressor's capacity relative to your tank size for optimal performance and longevity.
  • Auto-Stop Feature: The 'Set Pressure Version' offers a convenient auto-stop feature. While this provides an added layer of safety, it is always recommended to monitor the pressure gauge manually during operation to ensure precise filling and prevent accidental overfilling.
  • Pre-Charge Tanks: For optimal sealing and to reduce initial stress on the compressor, ensure your pressure vessel has some residual pressure (e.g., 20-50 BAR) before connecting it to the compressor. This can help prevent leaks at quick-detach connections.
