6. Maintenance
6.1. Battery Care
The doorbell uses two 18650 Lithium batteries. For optimal performance and longevity, ensure regular charging. The typical working time is 2-3 months with 20 wake-ups per day. Recharge when the app indicates low battery.
6.2. Cleaning
Wipe the doorbell's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the device's finish and IP65 weatherproof rating.
6.3. Unbonding Chime
To unbond the chime from the doorbell:
- Press and hold the reset button on the chime for 3 seconds. The indicator will flash blue twice, and the chime will restore to factory default, clearing its connection to doorbells.
- Alternatively, you can click "unbond" in the SmartLife app (under Bell Settings) to release the connection.
7. Troubleshooting
- Poor Video Quality Outdoors: If video quality is worse outdoors than indoors, consider moving your Wi-Fi router closer to the installation spot or investing in a Wi-Fi extender to strengthen the 2.4 GHz signal.
- Connection Issues: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. The doorbell does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Verify your Wi-Fi password is correct and does not contain special characters.
- Device Already Added: A doorbell can only be linked to one SmartLife app account at a time. If you encounter an 'already added' message, ensure it's not linked to another family member's account.
- Chime Not Pairing: Make sure the chime is powered on and its LED is flashing blue before attempting to bind it in the app. Ensure the doorbell is also connected to the app.
