8. Maintenance
8.1 Cleaning
Wipe the meter with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasives or solvents. If the meter gets wet, dry it thoroughly before use.
8.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator appears on the LCD, replace the batteries immediately. Ensure the meter is OFF and disconnect all test leads before opening the battery compartment.
8.3 Fuse Replacement
If the current measurement function stops working, the fuse may be blown. Ensure the meter is OFF and disconnect all test leads. Open the back cover to access and replace the fuse with one of the correct rating (e.g., MAX 10A FUSE for A jack, MAX 800mA FUSE for VΩmA jack).
9. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Faint Display: Check battery level and replace if necessary. Ensure the rotary switch is not in the "OFF" position.
- "OL" (Overload) Display: The measured value exceeds the selected range. Switch to a higher range or ensure the input is within the meter's capabilities.
- No Reading in Current Mode: Check if the test leads are connected to the correct jacks (A or mA) and if the fuse is intact.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure test leads are properly connected and making good contact. Verify the correct function and range are selected.
- NCV Not Working: Ensure the meter is in NCV mode and close enough to the AC voltage source.
10. User Tips
- The auto-ranging feature is very convenient for quick measurements, but always double-check the displayed units.
- When measuring current, always connect the meter in series with the load. For voltage, connect in parallel.
- The backlight is useful in low-light conditions; remember to long-press the SELECT button to activate/deactivate it.
- For temperature measurements, ensure the sensor is properly connected and immersed in the substance or placed on the surface you wish to measure.
- The NCV function is a great safety feature for quickly checking live wires before touching them.
- Always start with the highest range when measuring an unknown value to prevent overloading the meter.
