1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of the HIDORAJIN LED Backlight Strips. These strips are designed as replacement parts for Toshiba 40AL800 and 40EL100C television models, ensuring optimal display performance. Each set includes two LED strips (one right, one left), each featuring 66 individual LEDs and measuring 463mm in length. All products are thoroughly tested before shipment to guarantee functionality and quality.

2. Setup and Installation

Warning: Installation of LED backlight strips requires disassembling the television and working with electronic components. This procedure should only be performed by qualified technicians or individuals with experience in TV repair to avoid personal injury or damage to the television.

2.1 Pre-Installation Checklist

• Ensure the television is completely unplugged from the power source.
• Gather necessary tools: screwdrivers, prying tools, anti-static wrist strap.
• Verify that the new LED backlight strips match the model numbers and specifications of the original strips. Compatible model numbers include V400HJ2-LE2, V400H2-LE2-TLEM2, V400H2-LE2-TREM2, and E187565.

2.2 Installation Steps

1. Disassemble the Television: Carefully remove the back cover, stand, and any other components necessary to access the display panel.
2. Remove the Display Panel: With extreme caution, remove the LCD panel and diffuser layers to expose the existing backlight strips. Handle the panel by its edges to prevent damage.
3. Disconnect Old Strips: Gently disconnect the power connectors from the old LED strips and carefully remove them from the TV chassis. Note their orientation (Left/Right).
4. Install New Strips: Place the new LED backlight strips into their designated positions. Ensure proper alignment and secure them if necessary (some models use adhesive, others clips). The set includes one 'R' (Right) and one 'L' (Left) strip.
5. Connect New Strips: Connect the power cables to the new LED strips. Ensure a firm and correct connection. Refer to Figure 2 for a close-up of the connector type.



6. Test Functionality: Before reassembling the entire TV, temporarily connect the power and turn on the television to verify that the new backlight strips illuminate correctly and evenly.
7. Reassemble the Television: If the test is successful, carefully reassemble the diffuser layers, LCD panel, and TV casing in reverse order of disassembly.

Once correctly installed, the LED backlight strips operate automatically as an integral part of your television's display system. They will illuminate when the television is powered on and adjust brightness according to the TV's settings. No separate operation is required for the backlight strips themselves.

LED backlight strips are generally maintenance-free. However, to ensure their longevity and optimal performance:

• Avoid Physical Damage: During installation or any future servicing, handle the strips carefully to prevent bending, scratching, or damaging the individual LEDs or circuit board.
• Keep Dry: Ensure the internal components of the television remain dry and free from moisture.
• Dust Control: While the strips are enclosed within the TV, excessive dust accumulation inside the television can affect cooling and performance over time. Periodic professional cleaning of the TV's interior is recommended.

If you experience issues after installing the new LED backlight strips, consider the following:

5.1 No Backlight or Uneven Lighting

• Check Connections: Ensure all connectors (CN1) on the LED strips are securely and correctly attached to the power board. A loose connection is a common cause of backlight failure.
• Verify Strip Integrity: If only parts of the screen are dark, it might indicate a faulty section on one of the strips. Re-open the TV and visually inspect the strips for any visible damage or unlit LEDs.
• Power Supply Issue: Confirm that the TV's power supply board is functioning correctly and providing the necessary voltage to the backlight strips. This may require testing with a multimeter.
• Compatibility: Double-check that the installed strips are indeed the correct model for your specific TV. Incompatible strips may not function or could cause damage.
