1. Introduction

The Quason XY5008 DC-DC Buck Converter is a high-performance, digitally controlled adjustable regulated power supply module. It features a 1.8-inch large LCD display, synchronous rectification for high efficiency (typically 95%), and offers precise control over output voltage and current. Available in a standard version (XY5008) and a high-configuration version with WiFi communication (XY5008-W), this module is suitable for a wide range of laboratory, DIY, and industrial applications requiring stable and adjustable power.

The XY5008-W model extends functionality with mobile APP and PC software control, enabling real-time communication and remote monitoring over LAN or external networks.

2. Safety Warnings and Precautions

  • This product is a DC step-down digitally controlled regulated power supply. The output voltage must always be lower than the input voltage (pressure difference > 0.05%+1V).
  • Do not use this module with AC power. Ensure the input voltage does not exceed the specified voltage range.
  • Do not connect non-original accessories to the temperature sensor, fan, or other interfaces on the motherboard to prevent damage to the device.
  • Ensure proper ventilation during operation, especially when drawing high currents, to prevent overheating.
  • Always verify wiring connections before applying power to avoid short circuits or damage.

5. Setup Instructions

5.1 Wiring the Module

Connect the input and output wires to the designated terminal blocks on the module. Ensure correct polarity (VIN+ to positive input, VIN- to negative input, OUT+ to positive load, OUT- to negative load).

5.2 Connecting the WiFi Module (XY5008-W only)

For the XY5008-W version, connect the WiFi communication module to the dedicated interface on the main unit using the provided connecting wires. Ensure the connector is properly seated.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Main Interface Overview

The 1.8-inch LCD display provides real-time information and control options. The main interface shows output voltage, current, power, set voltage/current, CC/CV mode, ON/OFF status, product temperature, WiFi status, remote control enable, buzzer status, and brightness/screen off time.

6.2 Remote Control Operation

The included infrared remote control allows for convenient adjustment and control of the module's functions.

6.3 Screen Rotation

The screen supports four-way rotation to achieve the ideal viewing angle for various installation directions. Long press the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to rotate the screen in four directions.

6.4 Theme Color Customization

You can change the foreground and background colors of the display. Short press the rotary encoder button, select the corresponding position, and use the rotary encoder to switch between 64 available theme colors.

6.5 WiFi/APP/PC Control (XY5008-W only)

The XY5008-W version allows for advanced control and monitoring via mobile applications and PC software.

Network Connection:

The product connects to your router's 2.4G WiFi network. It supports direct communication within a Local Area Network (LAN) and external network control via a server, allowing you to control and view data remotely without distance limitations, provided there is network access.

The app interface supports adding multiple devices and is compatible with both Android and iOS systems. The WiFi module also supports voice control via platforms like Tmall Genie, Baidu Voice, and Xiao Ai.

7. Maintenance

  • Keep the module clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the device to moisture, extreme temperatures, or corrosive environments.
  • Ensure adequate airflow around the module, especially the fan, to prevent overheating. The intelligent silent temperature-controlled fan will automatically activate when the temperature exceeds 50 degrees Celsius or the current exceeds 2A.
  • Regularly check all connections for tightness and signs of wear.

8. Troubleshooting

No output voltage or device not powering on.
  • Check input voltage: Ensure it is within DC 6.0V-55V.
  • Check input polarity: Verify VIN+ and VIN- are correctly connected.
  • Ensure output voltage setting is lower than input voltage (Buck converter operation).
  • Check for input under-voltage protection (LVP) activation.
Output shuts down unexpectedly.
  • Check for Over Voltage Protection (OVP): Output voltage exceeded set limit.
  • Check for Over Current Protection (OCP): Output current exceeded set limit.
  • Check for Over Power Protection (OPP): Output power exceeded set limit.
  • Check for Over Temperature Protection (OTP): Device temperature is too high. Ensure proper ventilation.
  • Check for short circuits at the output.
WiFi module not connecting (XY5008-W).
  • Ensure the WiFi module is correctly connected to the main unit.
  • Verify your router is operating on a 2.4G WiFi band.
  • Check network settings and ensure the device is within WiFi range.
  • Refer to the Sinilink APP/PC software instructions for network configuration.
Remote control not responding.
  • Check remote control battery.
  • Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and the module's IR receiver.
  • Verify the remote control enable indication on the display.

9. User Tips

  • The XY5008 is highly versatile and can be used as a general power supply for various electronic projects, charging batteries, or as a laboratory power source.
