5. Installation Guide

The following steps outline the installation process for the Wafu Smart Lock. While the video demonstration may feature model 010, the general installation principles apply to model 019.

  1. Prepare the Door: Ensure the door where the lock will be installed is clean and suitable.
  2. Mark Installation Position: Use the baseboard and lock catch to mark the precise drilling positions on the door frame and door.
  3. Install Lock Catch: Secure the lock catch to the door frame using the provided screws.
  4. Positioning Ring: Place the locating ring on the lock catch. This ring helps ensure proper alignment during initial placement and should be removed after installation.
  5. Align Lock Body: With the double-faced adhesive tape applied to the back of the lock body and baseboard, carefully align the lock body with the lock catch. Ensure correct alignment before proceeding.
  6. Fix Baseboard: Press the lock body firmly against the door to adhere the baseboard.
  7. Secure Lock Body: Remove the screws from the lock body (if pre-installed for shipping) and then fasten the lock body to the baseboard using the appropriate screws.
  8. Final Check: Verify that all screws are securely fastened.
  9. Functionality Test: Test the lock's operation with a remote control. Open and close the door to ensure smooth and normal functionality.

5.1 Remote Control Pairing

To pair a remote control with the lock body:

  1. Insert batteries into the lock body.
  2. Press and hold the code key on the lock body until a sound is heard.
  3. Press any key on the remote control.
  4. Press and hold the code key on the lock body again until a sound is heard.
  5. The code matching is successful.

If a remote control is lost, re-match all existing remote controls to the lock. This will invalidate the lost remote control, preventing unauthorized access.

6. Operation

6.1 Unlocking Methods

  • Remote Control: Use the provided remote controls to lock and unlock the door wirelessly.
  • Indoor Button: An emergency button located on the inside of the lock allows for manual unlocking.
  • Phone APP (Optional): With a Bluetooth or WiFi adapter, you can control the lock via a mobile application (e.g., Tuya APP). The WiFi adapter allows for remote control over the network.
  • Fingerprint/Password (Optional): If you have purchased the fingerprint password keyboard accessory, you can unlock the door using registered fingerprints or a set password.

6.2 Emergency Power

In case the internal batteries are completely depleted, the lock can be powered externally using the provided USB cable. Connect the USB cable to a power source (e.g., power bank) and plug it into the lock's USB port to temporarily power the lock for unlocking.

7. User Tips

  • For phone app control, ensure you purchase the correct Bluetooth or WiFi adapter. The WiFi adapter enables remote control from anywhere with internet access.
  • If you desire fingerprint or password unlocking, the dedicated fingerprint password keyboard accessory is required.
  • Regularly check the battery status to avoid being locked out. The lock has a battery quantity reminder function.
  • Keep remote controls in a secure place. If a remote is lost, re-pairing all remaining remotes will disable the lost one.

8. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: The lock uses dry batteries. Replace them when the low battery indicator is active or when the lock's performance degrades. Refer to Figure 8.1 for battery compartment access.
  • Cleaning: Clean the lock body and remote controls with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
  • Screw Tightness: Periodically check all mounting screws to ensure they remain tight. Loose screws can affect the lock's security and functionality.

9. Troubleshooting
