1. Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Muse M-178 Pw Alarm Clock. This device combines a digital alarm clock with dual time projection and an FM/AM radio, offering convenience and functionality for your home or office. Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper use and to get the most out of your new alarm clock.

3. Setup
3.1 Power Connection
- Connect the AC power adapter to the DC input jack on the back of the alarm clock.
- Plug the other end of the adapter into a standard 230V ~ 50Hz wall outlet.
3.2 Battery Backup (Optional)
For backup power during outages, insert 2 x 1.5V AAA type batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit. These batteries will preserve time and alarm settings but will not power the display or radio functions.
3.3 Initial Time Setting
Upon first power-up, the display will likely show a default time. Refer to the 'Setting the Time' section in Operating Instructions to set the correct time.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Display and Dimmer
- The clock features a 0.9-inch LED display.
- Use the Dimmer Switch to adjust the brightness of the display to your preference.

4.2 Setting the Time
The clock operates in a 24-hour format.
- Press and hold the TIME SET button (refer to product diagram for button location).
- While holding TIME SET, use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to adjust the time.
- Release the TIME SET button when the correct time is set.
4.3 Alarm Functions
The M-178 Pw features a dual alarm system, allowing you to set two separate alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2).

Setting an Alarm
- Press and hold the ALARM 1 SET or ALARM 2 SET button.
- While holding, use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the desired alarm time.
- Release the ALARM SET button.
- Press the ALARM 1 ON/OFF or ALARM 2 ON/OFF button repeatedly to cycle through alarm modes: Buzzer, Radio, or Off. An indicator will light up on the display for the selected alarm mode.
Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily silence it. The alarm will sound again after a short interval (typically 9 minutes).
Sleep Function

The sleep function allows you to fall asleep to the radio, which will automatically turn off after a set period. Press the SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through available sleep timer durations.
Nap Function

The nap function sets a short alarm for a quick nap. Press the NAP button repeatedly to select a nap duration. The alarm will sound after the selected time.
4.4 Radio Operation
The M-178 Pw features a PLL FM/AM radio tuner.

- Press the RADIO ON/OFF button to turn on the radio.
- Press the BAND button to switch between FM and AM bands.
- Use the TUNING knob or TUNING +/- buttons to manually tune to a station.
- To automatically scan and store stations, press and hold the SCAN button.
- The radio supports 10 FM and 10 MW (AM) preset stations. To store a station, tune to it, then press and hold a PRESET NUMBER button until you hear a confirmation beep. To recall a preset, simply press the corresponding PRESET NUMBER button.
- Adjust the volume using the VOLUME knob.
4.5 Time Projection
The M-178 Pw can project the current time onto a wall or ceiling.

- Press the PROJECTION ON/OFF button to activate or deactivate the projection.
- Adjust the angle of the projector lens to position the time display where desired.
- Rotate the focus ring on the projector lens to sharpen the projected image.
4.6 Auxiliary Input (AUX-in)
Connect external audio devices (e.g., MP3 players) to the alarm clock using the AUX-in jack.

- Connect a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) from your external device's headphone jack to the AUX-in jack on the alarm clock.
- Press the MODE or FUNCTION button (refer to product diagram) to select AUX mode.
- Play audio from your external device. Adjust volume using the alarm clock's VOLUME knob and/or your external device's volume control.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Power: Disconnect the power adapter from the wall outlet if the unit will not be used for an extended period.
- Battery Replacement: Replace backup batteries annually or when the battery indicator (if present) suggests low power. Ensure correct polarity when inserting new batteries.
