This document provides instructions for the OBO HANDS 7-inch Wired Video Doorbell Intercom Indoor Monitor. Please note that this package includes only the indoor monitor and does not come with an outdoor unit. It is compatible with 5-wire or 4-wire connection type outdoor units.

The indoor monitor features a 7-inch TFT-LCD color screen. The screen's color and brightness can be adjusted by the user. It supports hands-free intercom, monitoring, and a one-key unlock function for compatible electric locks. The system uses an international 5-wire or 4-wire structure design, allowing for audio and video transmission up to 100 meters.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Cabling Standards

The indoor monitor requires a 4-wire or 5-wire connection to the outdoor unit. For connecting multiple indoor monitors, a 5-core cable is used between them. The maximum transmission distance is approximately 100 meters. The required cable diameter varies with distance:

3.2 Wiring Diagram

This diagram shows a 4-wire connection between the outdoor unit and the indoor monitor. If connecting a second indoor monitor, a 5-core cable is typically used between the indoor units.

3.3 Compatibility with Outdoor Units

This indoor monitor is designed to work exclusively with 5-wire or 4-wire connection type outdoor units. Below are examples of compatible outdoor units. If you already own an outdoor unit, please verify its compatibility before connecting. Contact customer support if you are unsure.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Hands-free Dual-way Intercom

When a visitor presses the call button on the outdoor unit, the indoor monitor will activate, displaying the image from outside and emitting a ringtone. To communicate with the visitor:

  1. Press the 'Answer' button on the monitor to begin conversation.
  2. To end the conversation, press the 'Answer' button again.

If no action is taken after the call or if the conversation is not answered, the monitor will automatically turn off after 60 seconds.

4.2 Indoor Monitoring

To view and listen to the outdoor environment without a visitor initiating a call:

  • Press the 'Monitor' button on the indoor unit. The screen will display the live feed from the outdoor camera.

4.3 One-Key Unlock Function

This monitor can be integrated with a 12V electrical lock system. To unlock the door for a guest:

  • Press the 'Unlock' button on the monitor. This will activate the connected electric lock, allowing entry without needing to go to the door.

4.4 Ringtone and Volume Adjustment

The monitor offers 12 or 25 selectable chord ringtones. You can adjust both the ringtone and intercom volume to your preference. There are three volume levels available.

4.5 Do Not Disturb Mode

To silence the monitor's ringtone:

  • Activate the 'Do Not Disturb' mode. This is useful during sleep or when a quiet environment is desired.

5. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your indoor monitor:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Power: Disconnect power before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
  • Environment: Keep the monitor away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture, and strong electromagnetic fields.
  • Cables: Periodically check all wiring connections for security and integrity.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your indoor monitor, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Power:
    • Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into both the monitor and a working power outlet.
    • Check if the power outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
  • No Image/Sound from Outdoor Unit:
    • Verify all wiring connections between the indoor monitor and the outdoor unit are correct and secure.
    • Ensure the outdoor unit is powered on and functioning correctly.
    • Check cable integrity for any damage.
  • Intercom Audio Issues (No sound, distorted sound):
    • Adjust the intercom volume on the indoor monitor.
    • Check for loose wiring connections.
    • Ensure the microphone and speaker on both units are not obstructed.
  • Unlock Function Not Working:
    • Confirm the electric lock is properly connected to the system and receiving power.
    • Check the wiring between the monitor and the electric lock.
    • Ensure the electric lock itself is functional.
  • Monitor Turns Off Automatically Too Quickly:
    • The monitor is designed to turn off after 60 seconds if no interaction occurs after a call or if a call is unanswered. This is normal operation.
