7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the keypad surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish and electronic components.
  • Outdoor Protection: If installed outdoors, regularly check that the rainproof cover is securely in place and free from cracks or damage. Ensure no water can accumulate around the keypad.
  • Wiring Inspection: Periodically inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion or damage.
  • Functionality Check: Test the keypad's functionality (RFID, PIN, doorbell, exit button) regularly to ensure it is operating correctly.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Keypad is unresponsive: Check the power supply connection. Ensure the DC 12V power adapter is functioning and properly connected to the keypad's +12V and GND terminals.
  • Door does not unlock after valid entry:
    • Verify that the user's RFID card/PIN is correctly programmed.
    • Check the wiring to the electric lock. Ensure it matches the lock type (NO/NC) and is securely connected.
    • Confirm the 'Open Time' setting is not set to 0 or an extremely short duration.
  • RFID card/keytag is not being read: Ensure the card is presented within the 3-8cm reading range. Check if the card is damaged or if it's a compatible type.
  • Doorbell button does not work: Inspect the wiring to the external doorbell (BELL1 and BELL2 terminals). Ensure the doorbell itself is functional.
  • Keypad beeps continuously or shows an error: This may indicate a tamper alarm or a system error. Refer to the specific programming guide for error codes or reset procedures. Disconnecting and reconnecting power can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
  • Keypad is not backlit: Check power supply and wiring. If the issue persists, there might be an internal fault.

9. User Tips

  • Secure Your Master Code: Always change the default master code immediately after installation and keep the new code in a secure, memorable location.
  • Outdoor Protection: For outdoor installations, even though the keypad is surface waterproof, always utilize the provided rainproof cover. This significantly extends the lifespan of the device by protecting it from direct exposure to rain and harsh weather conditions.
  • Test Regularly: Periodically test all access methods (RFID, PIN) and the exit button to ensure the system is functioning as expected.
  • Backup Access: Consider having a backup method of entry in case of power failure or system malfunction.
