9. Troubleshooting
- Device not powering on: Ensure the CR2032 battery is correctly installed and the plastic insulator tab has been removed. If the battery is old, replace it.
- No RPM reading: Verify that the inductive wire is wrapped 5-8 turns tightly around the spark plug wire and secured. Check that the correct engine firing pattern is selected in the settings.
- Inaccurate RPM reading: Adjust the number of turns of the inductive wire around the spark plug wire. Ensure the correct engine firing pattern is selected.
- Display is dim or blank: The battery might be low and needs replacement.
10. User Tips
- For optimal RPM detection, ensure the inductive wire is wound tightly around the spark plug wire for 5-8 turns and secured with cable ties.
- The JOB timer is useful for tracking specific maintenance tasks like oil changes or air filter replacements, as it can be reset independently.
- The device can be turned off by holding both 'MENU' and 'SET' buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds, saving battery life when not in use.
- When setting the initial total hours (TOT), remember this can only be done once.
