Enrolling

The 0E-PANIC345 Panic Button supports up to three (3) different alerts or commands to be triggered through different button presses.
The button appears as three sensor zones, each with their own unique serial number.
To prepare the button:
Install the battery in or remove the battery tab from the Panic Button following instructions in Section 8. Then press and hold the panic button for twenty (20) seconds. During this hold time, the LED will blink three times, then remain on for 3 more seconds  [Zone 3]. Do not release the button, continue holding down the button until the LED blinks five (5) times indicating the button is ready.

To enroll the panic button:

  1. Set your panel into programming mode according to the panel manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. When prompted by the panel, enter the zone’s 7-digit serial number printed on the SN card. Make sure the loop number is set to Loop 1.
Note some panels can enroll your sensor by capturing the serial number transmitted by your sensor. For those panels, simply press the panic button pattern for the desired zone.
Zone 1 Single Tap Press and Release (Once)
Zone 2 Double Tap Press and Release (Twice, <1 second apart)
Zone 3 Press and Hold Press and Hold until LED illuminates (about 5 seconds), then release
  3. When enrolling the device, it is recommended to name each zone for easy identification and assignment to the intended action or scene.
Example: zone #1 = “PB1 ST” (panic button #1 single tap), zone #2 = “PB1 DT” (panic button #1 double tap) and zone #3 = “PB1 PH” (panic button #1 press and hold).
    Important Notes:
After the zone is recognized by the panel, be sure to assign a zone type that is “chime only.” Otherwise, the button zone will be treated like a Door/Window open and restore and may trigger an alarm state.
If the Panic Button will be used as a “wearable device” supervisory should be disabled on the panel, as the wearer may leave the premises.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 until the panel recognizes all the desired zones.

Panic Button Testing

The Panic Button is designed to be used within 100 ft. (30m) of the panel. Test before first use, as well as weekly. The test verifies proper communication between the sensor and the panel/receiver.
To test the Panic Button after enrollment, refer to the specific panel/receiver documentation to place the panel into sensor test mode. Press the button sequence for each zone to be tested, from location(s) the Panic Button shall be used. Verify the transmission  count received on the panel is consistently 5 of 8 or better.

Product Operation

The 0E-PANIC345 supports up to three (3) different alerts or commands to be triggered through different button presses. The button appears as three sensor zones, each with their own unique serial number (SN).
The LED Ring blink patterns confirm each button press type detected:

Single Tap Zone 1 Press and Release (Once) One short blink + On during transmission
Double Tap Zone 2 Press and Release (Twice, <1 second apart) Two short blinks + On during transmission
Press and Hold Zone 3 Press and Hold until LED illuminates
(about 5 seconds), then release
Three short blinks + On during transmission

The LED will remain on for approximately 3 seconds when transmitting. Wait until the LED is OFF before attempting the next button press.
A zone event transmission is sent as an Open immediately followed by a Restore. Depending on the security panel’s features, triggering each of the Panic Button’s zones can be set up as the initiating action to trigger a pre-configured automation or rule. Refer to your specific panel’s instructions for more information.

Maintenance – Replacing the Battery

When the battery is low, a signal will be sent to the control panel.
To access or replace the battery:

  • Insert a plastic pry tool, or a small flat blade screwdriver into one of the notches on the back of the Panic Button and gently pry to release the back cover from the main housing.
  • Set the back cover aside, and gently remove the circuit board from the housing.
