Wireless keyboards need their own power source. The two most common choices are rechargeable and battery-powered
It will depend on the device. My own experience ranges roughly from one to three years. (Over the last two decades, I have had a large number of such wireless devices, many of which I am still using today.)
yes it works with rechargeable battery. Most non-rechargeable batteries gives 1.5 v at start and with gradual usage/discharge the voltage drops up to 1 . 0 volt. So mostly electronic’s circuit is designed for that anticipation.
Rechargeable batteries often have another voltage than the same size battery for single-use.
The wireless keyboard and mouse battery life varies depending on the model and the brand. In most cases, they are low-drain devices, so they don’t drain the battery too fast. Typically, they use regular AA or AAA batteries that could last between three to six months.
Rechargeable batteries typically last between two and five years and can be recharged hundreds of times. While they cost more than alkaline batteries, they last longer per use than alkaline batteries and end up saving you money in the long run
Wireless keyboards usually contain small radio transmitters. Like any radio transmitter, they need power to operate. Typically the power comes from batteries; if the batteries go dead, you won’t be able to use the keyboard.
